My two children and I recently enjoyed a brilliant stay in one of the pods at West Hall Glamping and can highly recommend it it. The amenities are excellent with plenty provided to make your stay as convenient as possible and the pods are very well equipped. There's the added bonus of a hot tub and fire pit for roasting marshmallows, with an honest shop on site providing essentials too. It is an excellent location to serve as a base of a number of tourist attractions nearby (we went as far as Hadrians Wall) and the relaxed atmosphere and positioning of each pod offers privacy and the chance to get away from it all. The pods themselves are ideal for families of 2-4 (depending the size of the children!) and the little on-site park offers a play area for kids which my youngest made the most of. An excellent venue all-round with friendly staff on hand to help.

We stayed there for my birthday last September 23rd to 25th 2024. It is the most gorgeous cabin pod we have ever been. Very quiet, a perfect location away from the city but it is still very accessible. Gill and Ray were very accommodating as well. They even prepared a birthday balloon for me as a birthday treat.
The pod was very clean as well. Enough space for 2pax. Equipped with basic kitchen needs and a complimentary basket.
We will definitely book again.

Excellent glamping site. The pods are very spacious, extremely well kitted out and comfortable. The site itself is beautifully kept - the friendly owner is obviously very proud of what he’s achieved and he should be. Hot tubs are sparkling clean and very warm. Been to many glamping sites over the last 10 years and this could be the best. Only suggestion would be to have a bigger playing area for kids to kick a ball about or play rounders etc.

We’ve visited a number of glamping pods over the last few years in various parts of the UK and this has been by far the most picturesque location & well equipped we’ve stayed in.|They have everything you could possibly need, a powerful hot shower, towels, toiletries, hairdryer, iron, kitchenette with kettle, toaster, microwave etc & most important for us, dog friendly. ||The owners Ray & Gill have created a wonderful little escape here and everything has been so well thought out on the site and in the pods. Little details that show they have put their heart & soul into the place, thought about making their visitor’s experience just right, the site and pods are immaculate.|We stayed for 4 weekday nights and found they are easy to find around on site too, cleaning / maintaining the grounds so you feel like you can catch them if you need anything. Ray was very helpful with advising on the places we wanted to visit & there’s also a very comprehensive info pack in the pod to help with finding local restaurants too.||The hot tubs are spot on, clean and well maintained too & it was great to be able to preorder wood for the fire pit and everything was there ready when we arrived.||Each pod has its own designated parking and there is a luggage cart to make moving your bags from the car easier.||It’s near to Broom House Farm & Coffee Shop - so handy for getting a good cooked breakfast before heading out for the day.||All in all West Hall is wonderful place for a short break to chill & get away from it all &/or use as a base to explore Durham and the surrounding areas. We would definitely recommend & will return here if we visit Durham again.

Fantastic glamping site near Durham, in a beautiful setting with amazing views. Just back from 3 nights with friends including 2 dogs in the group. Ray and his wife Gill who own & run the site are lovely people and very attentive. The glamping pods are the best I’ve ever stayed in, they are wider than the standard pod, lovely bathroom, beds, welcome pack full of goodies, and of course the hot tub which was ready for us to get straight in when we arrived & we all really enjoyed them. There is a pizza oven on site and on a Friday night they serve amazing pizza’s, which you pre-order, they also offer a breakfast menu which is hand delivered to your pod, fantastic. We also hired the bbq which comes with everything you need, charcoal, utensils etc. The site is a 20 minute walk away to Broom House Farm which has a great cafe & farm shop plus children’s play facilities. The Durham park & ride is just over 5 mins away making it very easy to get into Durham for a day out. I highly recommend this glamping site, we will definitely be returning

The place and the people (staff) itself is really great. It's just a bad weather that makes it worst. We almost can't go in to the hot tub but we tried even we are freezing because when you are already there its warm but we just stayed like 15minutes because it's raining hard again. We're just really waiting to stop raining a bit. We kind of dissapointed because of the weather. We are stucked inside our cabin. We wanted to do some firepit but can't. It's so wet outside that I slipped when I go out, so be careful guys, I got a massive bruise on my butt, but it's fine I'm not hurt. Just a warning. And tips: Check always the weather. The place is great but we can't even appreciate it because of continously raining outside.
Thank you thats it , we enjoyed it still. Our dog enjoyed it also. We should make sure that next time weather is great not like this. Huhuhu

Anyways, the wifi is not that good though as for me atleast.
