A large part of the hotel is clearly ringfenced for emergency council accommodation.||Arriving at the hotel car park it was obvious that the photos taken for the hotel website were carefully selected. Anyone seeing a more representative selection of photos before booking would not do so.||The hotel is over 100 years old and looks/feels every day of it.||The entire hotel smells of aged dust, throughout.||A portion of the hotel has a strong smell of weed.||The hotel is labyrinthine and easy to get lost in multiple times.||The food is not of a good standard, while also being expensive.||There was a sticky substance on one of the chairs in the room and more on the floor.||The flooring throughout the hotel is aged floorboards that creak loudly when you stand, sit or walk anywhere.||When booking in it was insisted that I present a bank or credit card for 'incidentals'. I challenged this and was told without the card details the hotel would not satisfy the booking. This being in spite of my company paying for the booking on my behalf. I have never encountered this before in years of business travel. I've cancelled the card in question and requested a new one.||The soundproofing between rooms is non-existent. The flatulent noises from the adjacent room were clearly audible, as was every cough, discussion, TV and door being slammed in the section section of the hotel I was staying in - which continued throughout the night.||The hot water in the room was tepid at best and not sufficiently hot for a shower - which didn't matter since the shower sprayed water all over the room when turned on and so wasn't usable.||After a maximum of four hours of sleep I left the hotel at 05:30 in the morning when I'd originally intended to do so at 07:45. ||A couple of the staff I encountered were helpful and pleasant.

I booked the hotel for a week's work in Northampton on the basis that it was bed and breakfast because that's how it was described. |From the moment I stepped into its dole office like reception, it was a disappointment. |When I asked when was served I was initially informed it was from 7am; however, my £78/night didn't include breakfast...then it did...then the manager followed me into the restaurant to tell me it didn't...fortunately McDonald's, just under a mile away, came to the rescue and other local food outlets are available...which were needed as the only meal I ate here, from the very limited menu, was dreadful. ||The fixtures and fittings were probably quite nice in 1985, but are tired out now, with mains sockets hanging off the wall.|I wouldn't stay here again unless the only other option was a cardboard box...and I might pick the box.||The only reason I've given it a One is that Zero isn't available. ||Honestly; stay somewhere else.

Me and my son stayed for two nights here for the carshow.
Ideal for a random stay, but the service wasn't great.. you have to run around trying to find bar staff to get a drink or wait 20mins while he books others into the hotel.
Very run down building needing a resto.
If maintained correctly, I'm sure this would be a wonderful place to stay.
In its current state I wouldn't be booking a romantic getaway here.

I have stayed a few times once for a while on my own and it was the staff that made it for me they were so kind nothing was to much trouble and I drink a lot of tea so needed lots of top ups lol I felt very safe here I have worked in the industry myself so I know how hard they all work they have a great manager there customer service is amazing 5 stars will always stay here when I town thank you |Lorraine

Dirty hotel used as benefit hotel. People using crack pipes outside while staff watching. |Smoking drugs, shouting till all hours of the night. AVOID this establishment like the plague.|I struggle to believe anyone would want to stay |Dated tired rooms, no air conditioning. |Budget 1* hotel at best

The staff were very friendly and welcoming and Subodh was very informative and helpful when checking into my room. We settled into the room very well with no problems and whenever we had a question the staff were very happy to help. We had a drink in the bar in the evening and Samuel was very polite and friendly and made our drinks very well and had excellent customer service skills.

This weekend I hosted an event at Westone Manor Hotel in the Westone Suite. This venue was perfect for the event we were holding. Leading up to and during the event Charlie, Subodh, and the rest of the staff were exceptionally helpful, and accommodating, and gave us a really good service. Very dated in terms of decor. Staff very good and friendly. But breakfast between 7:30 and 8:00 on a Sunday!!!!!
