We have just returned from our first visit to Whalesborough Resort and we will definitely be going back! We stayed in Little Main for a mini break over 3 nights and felt perfectly at home there. It was very cosy, comfy, clean, well equipped for our needs, and had a lovely ‘feel’ to it. There were games, books, outdoor seating.. I noticed a BBQ and washing line; all handy and homely little extras! We also loved the little nods to Hamish the dog! We didn’t bring a dog this time but have had doggy holidays and can see it would be a great and welcoming place for them and their owners, with walks from the resort to Bude and nearby dog friendly beaches. The pool facilities were clean and stylish, and we enjoyed the setting of the resort. The staff were also so friendly and helpful, both in the run up to our visit, during our stay and even in their “thank you for staying with us” email afterwards. It all felt genuinely warm and personable. The only slight disappointment was that The Weir restaurant doesn’t serve evening meals. Not a dealbreaker at all and it was my oversight for not spotting it when I booked, it’s just we’d have eaten there if it had been open in the evening. But this just would have been the icing on the cake, as we loved our stay!

We stayed in Whalesborough Cottage. A group of 6 adults, family of varying ages. The house was amazing! All facilities from the BBQ to the bed linen were such good quality! The hot tub and views from the garden fabulous 👌. Used the gym, outdoor pool and spa and were all perfect. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The restaurant on site was also great, but currently not open in the evenings but was still a lovelt place to go for lunch or a drink |Hoping to be back!

This was our first time to Whalesborough and arrived to very helpful staff who explained everything to us. Facilities are great - indoor pool, outdoor pool and gym and we were lucky enough to have the most fantastic weather! We stayed in the beachcombers accommodation which was just perfect! Had everything you need - lovely secluded garden with BBQ, outdoor dining set, loungers, washing machine, line, fan in bedroom and much more - French doors all round and just nice decor. I’d recommend this accommodation to anyone. Park is in easy reach of Bude and other beautiful Cornish attractions! Would especially recommended Sandymouth beach (national trust), although not accessible for some and look up the tide times as when the tide goes out it’s breathtaking! The walk from the park to widemouth beach or (other direction) Bude was about 35 minutes for each! Also the Weir restaurant at the park provided a lovely lunch! We only have one thing to fault and that was the building works (even though hoeseasons did point out in small print that works currently were being carried out), it was a bit noisy with trucks going up and down and banging around when you’re trying to relax in the garden but apart from that I’d highly recommend this place and its staff to anyone! We will go back

My family and I have stayed at the Whalesborough Resort on at least 6 separate occasions now and each time we have had the most amazing holiday. The cottages are beautifully decorated and they have thought of everything to make your stay a real home from home. On the resort itself there is something to do for the whole family - a beautiful indoor pool, spa facilites, a gym, a small farm where you can feed the animals, tractor rides and much more. It is also extremely dog friendly, which is a big plus for us. ||The location is beautiful and you are able to walk from the resort into Bude along the Bude canal. It takes approximately 40 minutes, but is well worth it. There are so many beautiful places to visit including Boscastle, Padstow, Tintagel to name a few and beautiful beaches too. ||The Weir restaurant, which is on the resort complex, is open for delicious breakfasts, lunch and afternoon tea and we have never been disappointed with our meals there. Dogs are allowed inside, another plus point. ||In April we stayed in the one of the new properties, Gwari Spa Barn. This was beautifully decorated and also had it's own hot tub, which was a real bonus. All the furniture and fixtures and fittings in the cottages are modern and it really was a dream holiday.||All of the staff were so friendly and welcoming, extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. A bit shout out to Jordan who was absolutely fantastic and really went the extra mile. Whalesborough really is one of our most favourite places to stay in Cornwall and we are already looking forward to booking our stay for next year.

New management but appears to be having teething troubles | We have been staying at Whalesborough since it opened in 2009. Whilst the sale to new management has provided a good investment of needed monies, some of the finishing touches are now struggling to keep it as a 5 star resort - example…. door handle has been changed to new ones but the door handle on the other French door has not been changed to match so they look odd which is not 5 star - attention to detail to keep the 5 star status. Another example, whilst the accommodation is self catering, basics like salt and pepper have always been available but not any more. Further, cushions for the outdoor seats are no longer available. The throws provided to cover the furniture for the dogs were so small they didn’t cover 25% of the sofa - luckily I had taken my own so furniture protection was not an issue. On top of this there are no fans for use in the hot weather (which it was the week we stayed) and the French doors in the bedroom could not be opened to provide much needed air. Another change I didn’t like was the hot tub has been removed from the outdoor pool area. This was something I used to like using whilst my wife used the outdoor pool but no more. And the path to the outdoor pool whilst wearing water shoes is not pleasant underfoot. Minor issues but issues all the same that keep Whalesborough from making 5 stars. Also, the parking place for my accommodation was not marked and therefore being used by another vehicle when I arrived. And there used to be 4 EV charging points, this is now 2! ||We are both concerned that with the expansion of accommodation being built on site the facilities need to expand in line with the number of people staying which could indeed spoil the beauty. We still thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return.

Once the day was done we were able to have a hot shower there were even hairdryers on site.
