Lovely place. Beautiful views. Friendly cat and comfy beds. What more can one ask for?
If you are into cold showers for healthy longevity, the water comes from their own spring so it is very cold indeed! Lovely refreshing start to the morning! Don’t worry, the water is hot too!
If you like natural soap and shampoo etc, bring your own.

We had 2x courtyard rooms to stay in after dining at the amazing Forge restaurant on the Middleton estate. The courtyard rooms have been converted from old farm buildings and are of a very high standard with everything you could wish for including a small fridge & microwave. The farm is a working farm down a quiet lane around 3 miles off the A66. Breakfast was lovely, the eggs were superb from the farm’s own chickens and we watched finches and a woodpecker on the feeders in the private grounds from the breakfast room window. Jane is an excellent host, very friendly and engaging. Value for money is exceptional with a significantly reduced price for single occupancy. I’d definitely stay again if in the area and highly recommend it.

Fantastic experience - stayed in a king size room in the main house. The room was large with two window seats to enjoy the views over the gardens and fields. Room was very clean with all you would expect - but nice editions were usb charging points in one of the main sockets plus an optional radio alarm clock / playing cards and multi plug adapter / small room fridge and nice drinking glasses plus individual electric blankets should you have wanted them (great addition for winter). |Decor was as per the location so elegant / farmhouse but the best bit was the outside seating areas and if the weather was cold or wet the resident guest lounge was also really nice and roomy. Breakfast was at 0830hrs with optional three courses which was cooked superbly. |You do need a car - although you can pre book taxis. With our O2 mobile provider we had no phone signal however there is free good strength wifi throughout the house opening up what’s app / messenger calls etc

Just stayed here for a night on the way to the Lake District. Really lovely place in scenic and peaceful surroundings. Very comfortable room and a delicious breakfast. Plus a very friendly three legged cat called Fergus. We would definitely stay here again when in the area.

I booked 2x courtyard rooms to stay in after dining at the amazing Forge restaurant on an estate off Scotch Corner. The ensuite rooms have been converted from farm buildings and are very tasteful with lots of extras (fridge, m/wave). Breakfast is in the main house where there are also rooms to let, which I believe are bigger and a little more expensive, although that is relative to the cost of the courtyard rooms which are exceptional value for money. Breakfast is in the main farmhouse and is as you’d expect… fabulous! We had a lot of poached eggs in our 7 days in N.Yorks and these from the farm’s chickens were the best. Jane, the host, is very friendly and is available for local info and recommendations. There is no card machine so bring cash or be prepared to do a bank transfer.

Overnight stay on way to Scotland, stunning views, lovely big room, Hosts very welcoming , great breakfast and great price for room including breakfast! Would 100% return when next in area!

So pleased to have found this lovely spot in the countryside…. fabulous views and super accommodation. Jane and the staff were so friendly and helpful 😀|Breakfast was great - especially the eggs from the farm’s hens; we were also quite centrally located to access some great restaurants too!!||Well placed to travel to lots of castles and other places of interest 👍||Would definitely recommend this lovely property.||Only bugbear - the road which passes the end of the drive is rather wild 🤪 - but this is the local highways….. cars travel far too fast!!
