We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting family nearby. We had a wonderful stay from start to finish. Beth was so welcoming and friendly and treated us like family. The room we stayed in was beautiful and comfortable with all the amenities you could need. The room was spacious with a really comfy bed. Breakfast in the cafe was delicious with warm and welcoming service. We will be looking to stay here again in the future. We didn't get the chance to eat in the restaurant but will be looking to next time as the food looked amazing.

We went in on the way to Burghley House. I had belly pork and vegetables, and my wife had the artichoke soup. The dinner I had was absolutely gorgeous. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the gravy was real. Not gravy granules. My wife loved her soup, she commented how lovely it was to get some old-fashioned type of soup. She says it tasted lovely.
The staff there were so friendly and attentive. They were all so nice.
So we shall certainly be back. A lovely experience, certainly a 10/10

We celebrated New Year's eve at the Whichcote Arms. The five course meal was exquisite. This place has an incredible chef and kitchen team. I would highly recommend you pop in for dinner any night of the week.

We visited for Sunday lunch and were very impressed with the friendly welcome we received. We ate in the bar area as there was a large group in the restaurant.
We both chose the roast beef and this was cooked to perfection, compliments to the chef. Seasonal vegetables were very tasty and not overcooked, the cauliflower cheese needing a special mention. Deserts followed in the form of apple crumble and a chocolate fondant, both portions very generous. Thwaite’s bitter on hand pull was incredible. All in all a memorable experience with attentive staff and a nice touch being the chef coming to our table to enquire how our meal was. Thank you.
Would certainly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A great village local with the benefit of one of (if not THE) best restaurants in the area. Sunday lunches are mega. Fine dining without the crazy prices. Nice that the chef uses only local seasonal ingredients, changes the menus regularly and even finds time to ‘walk’ the restaurant to speak to guests, nice touch.

Did not stay here, but we had dinner during Sept. 2023 - decided to try the restaurant as we passed through the village. The new owners have done an amazing job with the food menu and restaurant. I used to know this pub back in the 70’s and it’s come a long way.
The place is well run and very professional and a gem for the area. A nice wine menu is also available.
Would eat here again with no hesitation. Good parking and easy to get to.

We popped in for a drink when we were casting our vote last Thursday. The staff made us feel very welcome. I was surprised at how good the house reds were. We tried out two before settling for the garnacha.
Having had a look at the menu, we were impressed with the choices as it also included pub classics.
We shall be back soon to try out the food.
