Me and hubby and our dog milo came for the first time. Lovely site. Hardstanding pitch as requested. Lovely view of the sea from our pitch. Nice friendly staff. Always helpful in the shop and bistro. Nice dog walks. |Showers/toilets clean . |Would come back

There appears to be a recurring theme over the past months which I have to agree with.
Toilets/showers.
The location is magic with views over the sea but also inland and a great wee walk to Whitby. The staff were very friendly and the bistro and shop were very good. However.
I've been in lots of camp site toilet facilities which were getting a bit dated like this one, but they were always clean.
Not here.
There was a permanent smell from the showers that ranged from funky to throat catching. We were there 4 nights and although the wet floor warning boards would mysteriously appear I don't think the toilets were cleaned once.
In one toilet cubicle a dead crane fly remained on the floor all four days. A small piece of metal sat on the floor of a shower, again all four days.
It may not have been as bad as the bookie's toilet in Trainspotting, but the gradually increasing sprayed shite underneath the toilet seats showed it was getting there.
If you have a shower and don't mind crapping in your caravan, it's a nice wee park.

We have just had a brilliant girlie weekend in one of the studio apartments. The apartment was really funky and well appointed with everything you could need. It was very spacious with a lounge area with kitchen, fabulous bathroom, double bedroom plus mezzanine with 2 single beds and a large, partially covered outdoor deck with hot tub. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend this for a fabulous break either with friends or family.

Thank you for a wonderful stay. A really friendly site with great amenities. The caretaker was hilarious, a great singer and added humour whilst cleaning the toilets. Put everyone at ease! Location is great for a walk to Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay. Will return

We visited this site in mid-April 2025 for 2 nights. We had pitch no.103 which was a sea view pitch and gave us a view over Saltwick Bay.
The site is lovely, clean and tidy. It was clear that the management/owners were investing heavily in the upkeep and new facilities on site. The kids playground looked fresh, the addition of a second Elsan disposal area in the east of the camping field between pitch 2 & 3 was a relief for my arms. They seemed to have new campervan pitches, and Hot tub pitches looked to be being built.
This site is a great base location for Whitby due to a lovely public coastal footpath all the way to Whitby Abbey and down the 199 steps to Whitby old town.
We ate breakfast sandwiches in the Jet Bar, but be aware the opening times vary depending on the season, which closed early in the evening (probably because pre-Easter is classed as out of season?).
My only constructive criticism would be that the toilet block, although clean and hygienic, would benefit from some of that investment. The cubicle panelling between showers and loos was hanging off in places with makeshift temporary rusty metal brackets. Also, the push button showers had a short duration.
All in all, I would recommend this site to families and couples alike. We had a great time and would definitely visit this site again. Thanks WHP.

I am writing this today, we check out in the morning. What a fabulous stay we have had! AV38 has a stunning sea view highly recommend this caravan. Check in was easy we ate in the Jet Bistro a few times had some lovely bits and bobs and drinks staff so lovely! What i will say is yes the bistro closes early but…. So what! Get in a car or taxi or walk, get yourself down the road where guess what!! All the food and drink u could want! Don’t let moaning minis put you off staying here just because the cafe is closed! I mean come on! It beats drunken larger lout type behaviour and there is a Sainsbury’s and Lidl less than 10 mins away if you are that in need of drinks or food! The site we found very clean well kept and everyone is so lovely! The area it is in is stunning, the beach is a stones throw away although if you have not very good legs the walk up and down may be a struggle, if you take your time i can do it if you are able. We slept so well here, we did bring our own pillows and extra loo paper, when we come back i will bring extra towels but thats a personal choice. Also there are no chairs on the veranda so we purchased 2 from mountain warehouse that did the job. We found some cracking fossils and i collected bits to leave on a flat top stone for the kids to take with them. Please don’t let any of the moaning negatives put you off we truly had a wonderful week here and we definitely will re book again!

Beautiful site but not level where we were Pitch 64. Had to borrow wood from reception as it was about a 30 degree angle. Apart from that it’s a lovely site. Could do with leaving a few little piles of breeze blocks next too sloping sites. Bistro brilliant and not too expensive

This park is stunning. The facilities are so clean and the showers are hot.|There's a coastal path which you can walk which takes you to the Brewery and the Abbey and then 199 steps down to Whitby port.|We walked it both days and thoroughly enjoyed our time.|There's a bistro and bar on site, but unfortunately this closes quite early so we didn't use it.|Would definitely stay here again.
