We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is full of character and is very beautiful throughout. The bedroom was luxurious and the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast and evening meal were both very delicious. In particular, the evening meal was a really enjoyable dining experience. The staff are all very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

I am writing this review as we recently celebrated our wedding at Whitley Hall in September 2024. ||The location of this venue is absolutely beautiful! You are completely isolated within back country roads and it is very easy access to the M1. You drive through 2 large electric gates then down the path which really just sets the scene on your arrival. We were shown around by Laura who is AMAZING, she really listened to our needs and sat and answered all our questions. We booked the wedding in advance and chose to go for the exclusive package which in my personal opinion is worth every penny extra. You get FULL access to the venue and grounds all day.|| The weddings team are fabulous, VERY quick response to any emails, constant communication and overall, very easy to deal with and friendly. Thank you to Rebecca for being so helpful and helping with the constant changes. ||Forever Yours Team- A big thank you, Rebecca on our initial meeting you really listened to my vision and helped where was needed. The little cabin at the back of the hotel is great and offers a wide selection of hire items for couples to choose from. My favourite was the blossom trees! ||Jayne who works doing all the floristry at Forever Yours- you are amazing! Again, you listened to what I wanted, even though my flowers wasn't in season you were able to supply different options and give your advice. When the flowers arrived on the day they generally blew me away, they were beautiful and exactly what I visioned.  ||Wedding Coordinators - Joe and Amanda….||You both are absolutely AMAZING! Our day wouldn’t have gone the way it did without you both. You constantly reassured me, checked in, just ran the whole day perfectly! I honestly appreciate you both so much, Amanda thank you for coming to speak to me the night before it really helped just explaining everything. Joe you just knew my vision alongside Amanda and you both just ran with it. Without both of these our day wouldn't have gone the way it did, they are so professional and know exactly what you want. ||All the staff on the day was so kind, smiling and really helpful, it was so nice to see. Everyone spoke to us and was constantly making sure everything was ok. But my favourite part was coming down the stairs with everyone stood there made me feel a million dollars, it was so special. The fact Laura who had originally booked our wedding turned up on the day was amazing, this just shows that the hotel really put everything into those special little touches. ||The food was probably the best food I’ve ever eaten at an event, it was amazing! Really well presented and large enough portions.  All our guests were really happy and had full tummy's!  I’m guttered I didn’t eat much of the evening buffet as that’s what I’d been looking forward to the most but I was so stuffed from the day but it looked amazing! The morning after there was a large selection of both continental and full English breakfast to choose from, this was included in the price of the room and was great, you can tell it is locally sourced food not cheap processed food. |The drinks are a little pricey but in all honesty what wedding venue isn’t? I wouldn’t say there are extortionate at all. ||The rooms of the venue are lovely. They stick within the theme of the hotel but also offer the modern touch on the bathroom and bits! The bed was very comfy and overall, the room was very clean!  We didn’t get chance to stay in the Peacock Suite as there was a issue on the day but they instantly offered they was going to arrange for us to come back and stay which was kind of them and excellent customer service! ||Honestly before the wedding I just kept saying I wish we had got married abroad as the stress built up but after the day, I wish we could do it over again. It was perfect and this is all down to how smooth Whitley ran everything for us. Even down to setting up all our little extras and topping items up during the day you guys just did everything! ||A really big thank you, you are a hidden gem in Yorkshire and all the staff are excellent! ?

We got married here and it was incredible, the staff are amazing, Hannah was in charge of our day and she was an absolute star. We couldn’t recommend this venue enough to other couples. The food is incredible too. The venue and gardens really make it such a special experience.

We got married at Whitley Hall in October last year and definitely made the right choice with the venue. The grounds are beautiful and the staff were very helpful throughout the process. The food and drinks were delicious, some guests are still talking about the beef now! And the breakfast was fresh and plentiful. A big shout out to Joe who was running the show on the day, he was amazing and kept us both cool and collected. I would definitely recommend Whitley Hall and would suggest attending one of their open days/evenings to get a feeling of the place.

Got married here in May, the wedding itself was perfect the wedding coordinator was fab the food was amazing and venue is perfect!
Down side.. we got married on a Sunday and stayed the night before which another wedding was on and I hardly slept with the noise the thin walls with people running up and down the hall way shouting. Not ideal when you need some sleep (this has been dealt with from the hotel) but I’d recommend checking if another wedding is happening the night before.
Guests from the wedding had said the drinks are very pricey which now reflects from other reviews.
I understand it’s an old building but the rooms do get very hot, minding it was in May and not that hot in the night maybe upgrade to aircon for the prices of the rooms they are.
Overall these 3 faults did not affect the wedding and I would highly recommend anyone to get married here maybe just get a drinks package for guests, not stay not before and prepare for a very warm hotel room.

My daughter and I have had many lovely lunches over the years here followed by coffee and drinks in the cosy bar. Our visit this week was truly disappointing a first look at the wine list told us the prices were extortionate our usual wine was £34.00 and that was the cheapest wine they offered. Personally we wouldn’t have said it was a very decent PInot Grigio. Onto lunch, we are very aware in this day and age cut backs have to be made but what would usually have been a chicken breast is now reduced to a thigh with a small ramekin of tasteless sliced potato and a large helping of kale nothing else other than the sauce, no garnish no interesting presentation as would usually be the case. My daughter chose the “ribeye steak” pork, that was even worse a large pork chop quite fatty with a ramekin of potato and nothing else. Starters and deserts were quite acceptable other than the bread rolls which are now the size of tomatoes. |Why didn’t we complain? My sympathies are with the staff they don’t control pricing and are extremely efficient and pleasant.|I think the above says it all goodbye Whiteley Hall as I’m sure many more have said looking at the empty dining room.

Stayed at the Whitley Hall for 1 night as we attended a friends wedding.

This is an absolute beautiful place. Great venue and really nice rooms. Loads of parking spaces.
I think we payed £180 for the one night bit pricey.

I cannot give it 5 stars due to the prices of the drinks. Just for example, 1 pint, 2 Rekorderlig cider was £20.80.
Everone was complaining about the prices of the drinks.
For this reason if i was to ever get married, this is a beautiful place but would not like my guests being robbed at my own wedding.

There were another wedding on the same day which did not affect anyone apart from breakfast time, everyone was shoved together. I did not have breakfast for this reason.

All the staff were really nice and welcoming.

The food was superb apart from they did the gravy with Mushrooms in. I asked them for normal gravy. It came back with the mushrooms out but i could tell it was the same gravy. So did not have my main meal. Soup and dessert was lush.

Overall 3.5 for me but cannot give a 3 so its a 4.

Would i go again, yes with my partner. Would probably take my own beer ?

Went recently for Sunday lunch . Have been many times over the past six years because the standard of food was excellent. However the last two times it has been a great disappointment. The standard and size of the meals has deteriorated and the prices have also increased. We had prawn and crab cocktail ( without crab because they had run out) and we had to ask for extra prawns as the portion was so small. Main courses on the whole were good although the gnocchi was very sparse. Elton mess was served with a miserable scraping of meringue and no strawberries, although they were on the menu. |The staff are very friendly and helpful and the venue is lovely, but Sunday lunch is not good. Maybe the pressure on providing weddings is having an end to a decent Sunday lunch!
