We hired wilde thyme for a wedding at Barnbougle Castle. The quality of the food is a 5/5, service during the event 5/5, professionalism of the management 0/5, and bartenders 2/5. I held them to a high standard because their prices warrant that standard. Unfortunately, towards the end the process of dealing with Wilde Thyme was the absolute worst part of the wedding planning process. Unfortunately, the price was increased at every point in the process, despite our requests declining in amount and number of people; after calling in exasperation, the main manager looked into it and found that it was due to an error on their end in estimating the lower price earlier on in the process. Rather than be honest about it being an error on their part, they cryptically covered it up with just additional fees. Service during the meal was high, but bartending was mediocre at best. We had bespoke cocktails, which required fruit juice, but towards the end of the night the bar tenders were no longer squeezing the juice and instead just putting slices into the drink. The bar was not overly crowded at this point in time. Overall a disappointment for the price we paid.

Wilde Thyme catered my wedding in May and they were absolutely fantastic. They took time to listen to what we wanted and come up with lots of menu options for us, and gave us great advice on things like evening food and how much we'd need for drinks. The tasting was a lovely experience at their base in Cultybraggan. They were always accommodating and never rushed us (despite our occasional indecisiveness!)

In the week of the wedding and on the day itself, Caroline was an absolute star - she took so much weight off us and basically helped to project manage the whole set up and the day itself (amazing in a ''DIY' marquee wedding). And, of course, the food was top notch.

We'd recommend Wilde Thyme to anyone looking for great food and fantastic service for a special event, they went above and beyond.

This is a late review as my wedding was back in 2016 and obviously a lasting impression. Service was excellent, staff are friendly, accommodating, well versed in the venue and helpful to all guests. The food is excellent, mind and request tasters (we didn’t know and got into a little dispute, but it was handled well) and they adjust each dish to your preference if there are aspects you don’t like on certain dishes.

They won’t disappoint!!
