A party of 12 over Christmas at the William Cecil hotel. A big family gathering at the most important time of the year, and consequently a lot of trust placed in the hotel to provide us with a Christmas that would make special memories in the years to come!||The William Cecil exceeded all our expectations. The first commendation must be to the staff, who gave up their own Christmas in order to make their guests Christmas Day such a special occasion. They werel, without exception, a wonderful, warm, friendly, professional, helpful, caring team. Secondly, the standard of the hotel was fantastic, with very comfortable rooms, a lovely Christmassy festive ambience and beautiful tasteful decorations everywhere. The food was superb, our Christmas Lunch was delicious and there was not a single complaint, even from the more fussy eaters amongst us. There was a great choice of wines and accompaniments, the portions incredibly generous, and overall standard of food exceptional.||Without a doubt, the William Cecil provided and catered for a large party of differing ages and needs on the most important festive occasion of the year in a calm competent and utterly luxurious environment. I for one, will be happy to go back anytime!

The staff were very friendly and helpful, receptionist Rachel and general manager Prem particularly so. Food was excellent and the room was warm and comfortable when the weather outside was very cold. The hotel is situated next to the Burghley estate with plenty of walks nearby. Will definitely be revisiting.

Superb hotel, rooms, food and staff. Very comfortable beds and well laid out rooms. Hotel has kept historic features and all the staff could not have been more helpful and attentive. Food and drink is to the highest standard. I will stay at The William Cecil again

We had a wonderful light lunch in front of the log burning stove.The wine and sandwiches were lovely. The staff were warm and welcoming.The lounge was warm and nicely decorated. The singer was excellent . A wonderful way to spend Sunday lunch. We will definitely return with our two spaniels.

We had a marvellous stay at The Lord Cecil. Everything was perfect. Great room, spotless and the food was delicious. Staff very attentive. Location is great as you are so close to the centre of Stamford. This is the second time we have stayed and will definitely be staying again.

The Cecil is set in the outskirts of Stamford and on the edge of the Burleigh estate and is quite beautiful.
Our room was on the front so we had passing traffic which could be quite noisy but we didn't find it an issue.
Our room was really large with a big, with an oh so comfortable bed. Very relaxing and well presented room with a lovely, period bathroom.
We had a fabulous meal in the restaurant and a really good breakfast too!
We have already recommended to friends 🧡

Absolutely loved our stay as we were celebrating my husbands60th birthday....amazing bedroom , beautiful lounge to enjoy a cocktail and a delicious evening meal. Breakfast was fabulous. Lovely staff . Will definitely return.

Stunning location, building and ambiance. ||Easy to get to and parking no problem.|Check in was easy, super friendly and all bases covered quickly. (Dinner reservation, breakfast times etc) |Room (19) was lovely, large very comfy bed, tea/coffee facilities with fridge storing fresh milk (great touch) Bathroom had large low level walk-in shower and the body wash etc smelt fabulous.||Breakfast was help yourself and lots of choice - yummy. Full breakfast and special orders available. ||Check out was also seem less - fabulous stay
