Very nice pub. Very spacious and airy. Made to feel very welcome on arrival and went in good sun terrace at rear. Drinks, food, toilets, atmosphere and service all excellent. We had just the pulled pork nachos between us, and this was plenty and good. All staff very friendly and would definitely recommend!

Great lunchtime visit. Nice varied lunch menu with a separate specials menu. Food was quickly served even though the pub was very busy. All food was well presented and tasty. Both the chicken ceasar and the chicken and bacon salads were very nice enjoyable bowlfuls. They served a good black coffee too. Overall - good food, friendly staff and good service. Would certainly visit again.

This is an ideal place for some decent pub grub, with plenty of seating.
The food was good, and the service was great - friendly and efficient.
I had the lasagne, which had a gooey cheesy top, rather than my preference for a crispier cooked topping, but other than that it was fine.
My husband had the pie and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The apple pie and custard was delicious.
There's no pub car park but there is parking nearby.

Locals, went for a few drinks on a Wednesday at 9:30pm and told " I know you're having fun but keep the noise down" there was hardly anyone else in. We spent over £150+ at the bar. Never again!

Went to the William for Sunday lunch with my son & daughter yesterday, she is vegan. Turned out that the vegan roast option was a 'vegan wellington' with just potatoes as nearly all the veg were cooked in stuff like butter n honey etc! This was very poor & she opted for a vegan burger with chips instead! The turkey roasts were ok, mean on the turkey but most irritating was the fact the meal was only 'warm' on a cold plate! The veg were great n tasty so long as you're not vegan! How do so called chefs manage to create a yorkshire pudding that looks big, impressive & crunchy but when you cut in its just spongy n chewy? Finally, the kitchen is kinda open visibly from the bar, the kitchen staffs attitude was generally 'stuff the customers'! They didn't tell the bar girl they had run out of something until after she had taken the customers order n money. The attitude radiating from the kitchen was summed up perfectly by my son, "they will do what they want & if customers don't like it, sod them!"
