Really fantastic breakfast menu and great for vegetarians. Went as a family for brunch for a birthday. Coffee was nice and strong. There was gf cakes on offer that looked home made. Lots of different sections to choose from for seating. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Gluten free huge disappointment

I’m sorry but when you charge exactly the same for both of these plates I would have at least expected a little more smoked salmon on the gluten free bun. Could barely taste due to the amount of bread. Also presentation, what a difference if you’d just have made open ‘sandwich’ type with the bun. Sorry but I know prices of gluten free bread and smoked salmon and this does not equate to equal value for money and appearance was nothing, top was on bun when it arrived. Even just opening it I did for this picture made itvloook more presentable. . Feel you let yourself down with this one. Rest of the groups meals looked lovely.

The cakes that we had were nice, there was a good selection to choose from. I am displeased with the amount of tea we got though, for the price we paid we just got a small mug (filled 2 thirds). A good cafe would have supplied a teapot.

Picture it : The time is 3:06 PM: Mother and I approach the counter and ask, “If we purchase a sausage roll for Mother,” [Mother is highly disabled and in a wheelchair, accompanying me as I place the order]. The lady server behind the counter looks at mother then at me “Let me check…” the staff member replies. Moments later, she turns with disappointing news: “Unfortunately, we cannot warm a sausage roll; the kitchen is closed, and the ovens are off.”

It is disheartening to think that for an elderly lady in a wheelchair, we cannot even extend the courtesy of warming a simple sausage roll. The kitchen has only been closed for eight minutes; surely the ovens must still retain some warmth. This situation is yet another disappointment. I recall a similar experience five years ago when I was unable to request even two slices of bread with butter for the same reason. It feels as though we are losing our sense of compassion.

Moreover, I hope not to hear the same explanation as last time: “We sincerely apologize, but the kitchen is closed due to a cutoff before 3 PM. We have a wonderful selection of home-baked goods…” While I appreciate the need for operational protocols, it is disheartening when, just minutes past the hour, a simple request to warm a sausage roll that has been sitting on the counter since morning cannot be accommodated.

In moments like these, it is essential to remember that we are all part of a community. We should strive to help one another rather than adhere rigidly to rules that may lack the understanding of human needs.

I am sorry you cant take honest feedback! After hundreds of reviews and over 300,000 views on them this is the first time I have be called overbearing, had a bad tone or manner (and which one of the 4 of us are you referring too). This is just to save face and be personal!
Our table was polite in the way we raised the numerous issues and I feel that if you can not take honest feedback then this is a shame and it show that you are unwilling to learn from your customers bad experiences!
I do however concede that Kilworth house has increased their prices since we last went but it was still a much more pleasant experience regardless of the amount you pay!
As for posting on this platform, that is what is here for.
Thank you

So 4 of use went for afternoon tea today and was treated by a lovely lady who explained the cakes and what's included.

First of all would you pay £36 for this tier of food, 4 triangles of sandwiches, 2 scones, cream, Jam and a choice of cake. Some crisps and a few strawberries and blackberries? This is £18 a head .... hmm

The crisps were soft and clearly been opened and stored in the fridge. The filling on and sandwiches was minimal, apart for the tuna. The scone was OK and the Rocky road had a hint of chocolate but not very tasteful.

The first server went home sick and we had no check back or water we asked for until the manager came over and offered us £10 off the bill. Which was nice.

However when we came to pay we got charged for 5 afternoon teas at £80!!! Ouch

We did raise this and was refunded. It was all just a bit hard work. Asking for things several times, soft food! Billed incorrectly! All just very unorganised.

I have had much better from Kilworth House ..... sorry!
