I booked the Merlin Suite for a girly weekend with my best friend, who is 6 months pregnant. The booking process was easy and followed up with a phone call from Ian - he spent time going through the property amenities and recommended places to eat and visit. The access and info email was easy to follow and some great pointers were included.|When I arrived - WOW - just wow. The property is so cute and really does live up to its reputation of being magical. The suite was a perfect size for the two of us and had everything we needed for our stay. It really did feel like a home from home. There were some really lovely touches both externally and in the rooms (I won't ruin the magic for others by going into detail here). I would 100% recommend The Wizards Thatch. Thanks so much, Ian, for the amazing stay! I have already had friends asking for details so they can plan a visit!

Ian was an amazing host and greeted us on arrival. He gave us some very useful information about the area and local restaurants, 3 of which we visited and thoroughly enjoyed. Nothing was too much trouble. The cottage was awesome and the most unusual, magical experience I have ever encountered. It was very comfortable and warm and the setting is great as we never used our car throughout our stay . Lovely local walks and felt totally refreshed after our visit . There was no end of interesting history within the cottage and it is maintained to a high standard . Very clean and comfortable with all you need for a chilled weekend.

Had a wonderful stay at Wizards Thatch in the suite for our 7th wedding anniversary. ||It was the perfect place for us to get away from it all! Oozing with character and just down right cozy. Cant wait to come back!||Plenty of local amenities just a short walk away too. Breakfast at De Trafford arms is recommended.||Ian, the owner, ensures you have absolutely everything you need for your stay with excellent communication before, during and after your stay without being intrusive.||If you are considering a stay, do yourself a favour and book, you will not regret it!

Wow, the Wizard's Thatch! I had always walked past this place and saw it lit up by fairy lights like something out of a fairytale and wondered what the building was. I stay in Alderley edge quite often for work so have stayed at quite a few hotels in the area and this is now my favourite. I was out at an event so came in quite late and Ian was so welcoming and lovely on the phone and sent across some really helpful information. Finally, the Merlin suite is just amazing, so full of character and I spent the morning looking at the lovely bits and bobs on the shelves and I also noticed how spotless the place was! ||Thank you, thank you, thank you!

What an excellent place to stay. Wizards Thatch was as incredible as I was hoping it would be after wanting to visit for 10 years. The whole place was welcoming with comfy beds and quaint touches. Can’t wait to revisit again soon. Thank you Ian & Ali

A fantastic and very special property that happens to be a hotel! The 4 poster bed, adjoining fully equipped (with bath) bathroom and welcome from Ian and the team all added to a great stay. A wonderful experience and I will definitely be back.

Wowwwww!!!! If there is a truly magical place to stay---this is it!!! I stayed in the Merlin room and could not have been more comfortable, snugly, enchanted and mesmerized. Every time you turn around you turn around there is something you didn't see the first time. The pics I have do not do this magical place justice!

If you are looking for somewhere different to stay Wizards Thatch is the perfect place, quirky, magical, romantic. There are so many things to catch your eye, historical, wizardry, books galore. I can’t believe the place is so clean and not a spec of dust. It’s a self catering place to stay but there is a Kettle, toaster and microwave, crockery and cutlery to use. Coffee and Tea choices and there is fresh milk in the fridge. There are plenty of restaurants in the high street which is only a minute walk away where you can have breakfast and meals to suit your choice.
