We stayed at Wood Grove B&B for 5-nights at the beginning of July as we had a family wedding nearby. For the first night my Mum and her partner had the second room but after they had left to stay in a cottage for a week, we had the entire wing to ourselves. This is usual if just one room has been booked as the bathroom is shared between the two rooms so there is no worry of having to share with strangers but it is ideal if you have a family group or friends.||||We loved Wood Grove - the rooms are a good size and the bathroom not only has a shower but also a massive bath. The rooms are well equipped (hair dryer, bottles of water etc.), tastefully decorated and also have good wifi. Coming from near London I was happy that the location really was peaceful, unless you are disturbed by blackbirds and robins singing that is! It is also lovely and dark and with a kingsize comfortable bed you are assured a very good nights sleep. It is in a fantastic location, immediately opposite Skipton castle and overlooking the Mill Race. When you drive in it seems a bit of a distance but walking back into Skipton itself is an easy 5 minute walk or so along the path by the mill race.||||Pete and Linda who run the B&B are excellent hosts. They take time to find out the sort of things that you may be interested in seeing and can suggest driving, walking or cycling routes in the area. They also can recommend good pubs and restaurants in the town. Breakfasts are served in the kitchen/diner and set you up for the day. Fresh fruit, large cooked breakfasts and endless toast meant that we often didn’t need lunch. All beautifully presented and eaten overlooking the mill race with an occasional glimpse of a kingfisher thrown in for good measure. ||||To summarise, this is an excellently located B&B in a very interesting town - rather like a Venice of the North. Linda and Pete are welcoming and it was a pleasure to stay in their home.
