I would have given a 5 star review, save for some small quibbles. The pool area has large signs next to the steam room and sauna that states "these facilities are not for under 16 year olds" and a small sign next to the bubble pool that says for 12 years old and above. My wife and kids were treated badly by members telling them they should not be in the bubble pool due to the signage. My children are teenagers. The staff then also asked us to leave the bubble pool when I was present and I had to point them to their own sign.
The guidance on the lodge and facilities is not as good as it could be. Better signage all around. Better route signs and lighting from the lodges to the pool. They probably expect you to drive from your lodges to the spa but this was not communicated in any way and we would rather walk, but it is dark and not clear where you should walk on first trying.
The staff were trying to do a good job, but I think they were perhaps new and not managed effectively. I would recommend staying in a lodge still for a different experience, and it is clean and tidy. The £250 deposit is high but it's advertised and not a sting as such but something to bare in mind before booking.

We stayed in a silver lodge 2 bedrooms. The lodge was very clean and maintained . You get all the things you need to make it a great stay. Would definitely recommend a lodges. Hotel staff where really good on checking in & out. Sadly didn't try the restaurant. The spa treatments we had where supper relaxing and the staff where very good to us all. The only thing I would recommend is on booking any treatments before you arrive is you get it in writing or email. Has we booked over the phone months before we went. Only to find out that the person who took our call didn't book us all in. Thankfully the staff & management came through to get us our treatments. On whole had a great time in the spa & treatment rooms. Would recommend some great places nearby to visit to.

The cottage is absolutely fantastic and I would like to thank you for getting the surprises ready. My wife was very happy with the surprise in the bedroom and the chilled champagne which helped make her birthday after the drive down.

All the staff here are being as fantastic as in our previous stays which is a credit during the current situation which is difficult.

Our stay over Christmas was delightful. Warm and comfortable in the high quality lodge, with all kitchen equipment required for producing special meals. The parkland is lovely and being able to use the pool and spa facilities is a bonus.

This is the nicest place we've stayed in many years. Would recommend this to anyone. Excellent value! Self catering facilities are very high standard, rooms and bathrooms very well finished. Quick walk to St Austell, although there's little going on there in the evenings. Stay in the hotel bar instead!

Lovely 3 bed lodge. Loads of room. All you need for self catering accommodation. Check in time a bit late, 4pm? Hotel very nice. Stayed here a fair few times. Spa now starting to need an update, nice but now a lot nicer ones in the county.

The perfect way to get away from it all and spend time with the family, this was our home from home while staying in the St Austell the grounds were stunning and our Woodland home cabin was surrounded by beautiful views of the trees and well managed grounds.
