Stayed for 3 nights as a family in a caravan.
The site is nice because of the lakes and the woods.
However my gripe is with the party in the on site pub. I've got young children and the site is family orientated. They even state in the welcome pack that guests should be quiet after 10pm. On the Saturday night we were there, the pub had a party night and the music was seriously loud from our caravan. Not only was it a bit excessive, it continued until midnight.

Me and my partner came here for a nice peaceful weekend and it’s just what we needed. Due to leave in a few hours and we don’t want to…|The entrance is well signposted on the main road. Checking in was super quick and easy and the lovely man showed us on a map where we were pitched and how to get there (I had pre chosen our pitch on the website). View of the lake from where we were was beautiful with the wash facilities only a couple of minutes walk at most. The shower rooms and toilets are great. There’s plenty of them and it’s lovely and warm in there. We accidentally tripped the electric on our first night (being novices and running too many big appliances). The warden was straight to us in the morning and helped us sort it out. We visited woodys bar. The food looked and smelt lovely and very reasonably priced but we already had food in the camper so we were good and stopped ourselves from buying any. We had some drinks which were well priced, my gin was lovely and the staff were really friendly. |The site is clean and very well maintained and we are really looking forward to coming again…. might even bring the kids as the play park looks lovely

Liked: Site, clean, flat, easy to pitch. The family bathrooms are lovely. On site pub was great with lovely food and atmosphere. Great dog walks around the site.

Liked: Scenery, Friendly staff, bar and restaurant lovely. Toilet blocks dated but clean and fresh.

Disliked: The showers mean I have to subtract 2 stars, they are button operated with seemingly no temperature adjustment and the one I used in the gents gave about 7 seconds of flow per press and each press resulted in being quickly scalded then frozen and then tepid water, my wife reported the ladies gave about 15 seconds of cold water

Great on site bar / restaurant
Lovely setting
Anpr in and out so no codes or gate cards
Clean shower toilet block

Disliked: Not much light away from woodys bar making the site very dark at night
We arrived in the evening and couldn't see very easily for finding out pitch
Breakfast at woodys would be a nice option

We stayed in a contemporary Log cabin sleeps 6. Stunning ! Very modern and everything you need for a break but with a luxury twist. |Extremely large space with an open plan living room-Kitchen-full size dining table. |Nice clean rooms double with an en-suite. Not a huge amount of storage space for clothing etc, but we only did 3 nights so wasn’t an issue. |2 complementary disposable BBQs left for use, which was a lovely touch. ||Sleepy stayed in Woodpecker which was set back from the lake. Slightly disappointed with the view as most of the trees etc covered the view. Plus we were very close to the road, at at times it was very noisy. We would certainly come again but would prefer a cabin further into the site. |Not the cheapest regards price but we came as a family of 6 so was good value for money. Plus this included fishing, and 4 of the party were all fishing, (carp, Perch, Bream to a decent size) Fishing from dawn-dusk. |Place lovely and quiet by 11pm.

Liked: We stayed on a full serviced hard standing pitch. We were close to toilet block and close to Woodys Bar. Woodys bar was great, friendly staff and great food.
It’s a very pretty site with the lakes

Disliked: WiFi was awful and could never connect unless we were in the bar.
I am on Vodafone and also had no 4g. So was not able to use our Netflix or go online due to poor wifi and no 4g.

Nice place however fishing was hard going and toilet/shower blocks could do with updating. Showers were really old with hardly any power in them. Plaster on the walls was flaking off not nice really. More lighting could be put in place along walkways as its a large site it's really dark.
On a positive note Woodys bar was excellent. Food really good and real ale weren't bad after explaining to bar staff how to pour it with a head on it instead of pouring it flat !! Would we return ? Doubt it.
