A beautiful house in a beautiful setting. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was large; it overlooked the garden and surrounding fields, it was absolutely spotless and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was freshly cooked and was tasty. We shared a large table with other guests at breakfast, which was nice (if you like meeting and chatting to new people). We would highly recommend Woodlands to anyone visiting the area. Good access to M42/M5 as well.

We stayed at Woodlands Bed & Breakfast for one night while in the area for a funeral. After a long drive to Woodlands, we were welcomed to the house by John who showed us around the house and to our MASSIVE rooms. The facilities in the rooms are spot on - tea, coffee, biscuits. Our evening there we didn't have anything lined up for dinner, but John & Amanda were more than accommodating providing us with plates and cutlery and even glasses for wine & beer so we could enjoy a Chinese from the local village. A true home from home and not part of the normal service, Amanda showed us the kitchen and we dutifully cleaned up and washed our own dishes - or rather left them in the dishwasher. ||John & Amanda have split off a part of the building as a private flat, but also share the communal areas of the building making you feel like guests in their home - this is an amazing touch which just makes you feel so comfortable. ||In the morning, Breakfast was a traditional one of cereals and fruit, fruit juices and a cooked breakfast - it's not a full English, but is certainly more than enough to keep you full for the day ahead. We were treated to a visit from the Muntjack Deer, something we'd never seen before with Roe & Red being more common in our area. ||We'd like to thank John and Amanda for their hospitality, and thank them for making us feel at home in their home and we'd love to visit again if the occasion brings us to the area again.

We stayed here on the night of my sons wedding. Plenty of room to park our car. Amanda and John greeted us on arrival. What lovely, friendly people they are. Our room was spacious, clean, and full of character. We had a great view over the gardens. Tea/ coffee making facilities in the room, and toiletries in the bathroom. Comfortable bed too. Breakfast was the best I have had for a long time. Eating it with a lovely view of the grounds..... can't be bad! John advised about taxi firms to take us to the wedding, really helpful. We would definitely stay here again, without a shadow of a doubt.

Woodlands is a family home dating back to the 1800s and is a substantial property in very large grounds within a rural setting. The owners Amanda & John couldn’t have been more welcoming or pleasant. Room was plenty big enough with a good shower and serviced daily. The couple have an outdoor pool which was offered which was kind I thought. On to breakfast..... I stay in guesthouses every week as part of my work and I have to say the breakfast was superb. Beautiful scrambled eggs, bacon cooked to your preference and hash browns as you normally get in the States. There’s a selection of cereals and toast or yoghurt and fruit as a lighter option. To be honest this is less like a B&B and more like staying in a family home. Excellent stay and thank you for your kindness. If the occasion arises I will certainly book again David.

Fantastic place, great value for money. The owners are so accommodating, excellent breakfast. The house is a time capsule of history, and the gardens and lakes are in perfect settings. It will definitely impress anyone, and perfect place to relax. I highly recommend visiting, and staying a few days. The village is a short walk, with nice places to eat, and a lovely pub. 😊👍

Beautiful house with so much character in picturesque countryside. Gardens were in full bloom too. Hosts were very friendly, helpful and pragmatic - good dinner recommendation too. Breakfast was really tasty. Room was large and spacious with large ensuite. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Our stay at the Woodlands was an absolute pleasure and John was the perfect host. The rooms were beautiful with outstanding views.The Full Breakfast was as good as I have ever had. Fabulous place and I would highly recommend.

As a US business traveler on a short holiday, I found this property to be exactly the country retreat I had hoped for. The view of the pasture and woodland, and steeple in the distance...the well-tended gardens, the historic family portraits in the home, and the pool was a surprise! The beautiful wood staircase, the homey original kitchen, the full English breakfast, and the welcoming resident owners, all made this a very special visit. Thanks for John and Amanda for making me feel so welcome here.
