Really enjoyable stay - completely clean and lovely spacious facilities. Nicely situated next to woods and within minutes of beach. Great sea view. Hot tub was functioning well and daily water tests from site staff to check safe. Well catered for dogs. Nice touches with courtesy dog treats. Early phone call to let us know early availability. Would definitely stay again!

This is not our first visit to Woodside, and having already booked for a return, will not be our last, but after that, we are not sure.|Our lodge was clean, other than some cobwebs above the bed in one bedroom, and the kitchen floor had a strong smell of urine. This was attended to quickly by housekeeping. All staff we spoke to were very friendly.||The lodge may have recently had some work done to it as there appeared to be new blinds and one of the bathrooms had a faint smell of paint. But there are areas that still need sorting. The kitchen cupboard doors were peeling, the bottom door shelf in the fridge was broken meaning there was nowhere to put milk, and all three of the freezer drawers were badly cracked and broken most likely due to the difficulties getting the drawers open and closed with the amount of ice build up. ||The ensuite shower rooms are far too small, the sinks are far too big. This results in having to squeeze past the very very hot towel rail to get in the shower. After getting burnt three times when using the shower the first time, we decided we would have to turn the heating off to ensure nobody got badly burnt. Having the heating off in December is not ideal and there is no way to switch off just the towel rails. This really needs looking into before someone gets seriously burnt.||However the biggest issue we had on this visit was the lack of TV signal and Wifi. I see someone mentioned Island wide TV signal issues but we did not see or hear of anyone else mention this during our stay. We were unable to sit and watch any programmes over the holiday period since the signal was so poor. Nor could we watch anything online since 99% of the time the Wifi was also not working. We understand this issue has been raised a few times before and normally the reason given is the location, but why have other options not been explored? Other parks do not have an issue. Whilst a super duper connection and speed is not expected, with many now using online banking and shopping, simple browsing should at least be possible. We couldn't even check the weather or opening and closing times of places and shops.||We hope that some improvements are made before our next stay, if not, we will sadly have to look elsewhere, which will be a shame. ||Given all the issues, we currently would not recommend Woodside Coastal Retreat.

Amazing pre Christmas week and Christmas week stay.|Nothing is too much for this park!!||The whole of the island had television signal problems over Christmas the site did their best to manage all complaints, thankfully we had data to watch our one program we wanted to see (Gavin and Stacey) otherwise we weren’t bothered by this. The comment I will say is anything reported is always dealt with straight away.||Hot tub is checked daily, site is well maintained ||The lodges are equipped with everything you could possibly need.||Bar area very welcoming and lovely log fire.|Price of drinks very reasonable.||All staff are friendly and want to ensure you have the best holiday as possible.||We had the most fantastic Christmas at woodside and would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone

This was our second visit here, I decided to book a Carisbrooke View Premier lodge to celebrate my mum's 70th birthday. However on our first night when we had all gone to bed there was a loud nibbling and scratching sound coming from under the kitchen cupboard skirting boards, once we investigated we could hear there was either some kind of rodent under the kitchen cupboards trying to get out. Then the sleepless night started... we all went to bed only to then hear the sound of claws running around, I opened my bedroom door and to my horror saw a rat running around in the lounge. We all barricaded ourselves into the bedrooms, my mum was crying as she hate rats. None of us got any sleep as all you could hear was the rat scratching and running up and down the hallway outside our bedrooms. In the morning I went straight to reception and explained what had happened and showed them the video we had taken. The receptionist told me they would just send pest control to take a look, I said I wanted to change caravans as I wasn't prepared to stay in a caravan with a rat, She said she didn't know if they had any availability, so I had to demand to be moved to any other lodge, even though I had paid extra to have a sea view. Within the hour I was told I could change lodges, so absolutely shattered we all then had the task of packing up all our belongings moving into another lodge and unpacking all again, after this we all went to sleep for the best part of the day. So both Friday night and Saturday was ruined for my mums celebration, definitely not a relaxing retreat that I had paid for, as we all left feeling stressed and very tired. On a positive note the site location and views are amazing.

Fantastic place to stay on the Isle of Wight. Really nice, well kept and tranquil site. Lodges are lovely, spacious and really clean. Private hot tub and own beach for walks were also superb. Highly recommended and would stay again.

Have stayed here many times and was pleasantly surprised as normally the cleanliness is very poor but this time on the whole pretty good. |Only 3 cushions for outside chairs, seal broken on oven, furniture very shabby |Shower head in second bathroom needs mending. We will stay again as we are well aware of the little niggles.

We have been here for the past 4 holidays. To begin with, we thought it lovely but each year has been less inspiring. It came to a head with our last holiday there this year. We will never go there again! The cabin we stayed in : the hot tub cover was broken and had to be repaired, the extractor fan didn’t work, the settee had to be cleaned as it smelt of baby sick, there were no hangers or much room to store our clothes, no shelves to put our stuff on, the fire didn’t work, the flooring was extremely knackered and uneven and dirty. There looked to have been NO garden maintenance or landscaping maintenance at all! I cried for the first day because this was definitely NOT worth the money. The staff were brilliant, I must say, and did their best to rectify things. If it weren’t for them we would be demanding a full refund. Do not waste your money here, the management are definitely not investing their profits on maintenance
