We love coming here, been here multiple times over the years. What made this stay disappointing. Lets start with the check in, we were advised to go through the south entrance as it would be easier, which meant going outside to get inside the hotel. We learned later that was helpful when you have luggage but you didn't need to do that once you were settled. The room was lovely, the balcony was sadly, a bit dirty and there was no third chair (there was 3 of us). There was no still water for the room either, which was disappointing. We had dinner in the brasserie, which is lush, but the service was poor, there was one gentleman with a beard who is always fabulous. Once seated, after 10 minutes, we called someone over to ask if we could have some drinks. This took a further 10 minutes. The lady who served us had no personality at all, and literally would just say "are you ready", that was it. The welcome was poor. The meals itself were average. The pork was divine but the mash potato and accompaniments had no flavour, it said buttered mash, but you couldn't taste it, very bland. The lamb stew was also bland and the carbonara was a little congealed. It was a very dull experience. We went to the cinema in the evening to watch 28 years later and it finished at 10.30 pm, we walked out of the hotel to get back in and arrived at the bar at 10.37 pm on a Saturday night to be told the bar was closed and we could not have any drinks. I mean, if you have a cinema on and it finishes at 10.30 pm, I would highly recommend that the hotel at least keeps that bar open for a further 30 minutes til 11 pm especially on a Saturday night. We walked out of the hotel to go back to our room, but the south facing door was locked. We walked back up to the main entrance and reception where our favourite lady was on duty and explained the whole situation. She was amazing and said she would get us drinks, which she did and we sat in the lounge but eventually took the drinks up to our room to sit on the balcony. It was at this point we found out we didn't have to keep going outside to get inside. Very disappointed and when you spend so much money you expect better. However, we do thank that lovely lady on reception, I wish I knew her name, because she seemed as frustrated as we were. Thank you.

This is a fabulous well appointed old hotel right on the coast. Everything about it is elegant and calming. We wish we had had 2 nights here so we could have enjoyed the spa offerings. Be aware there is a swimming pool so bring your swimsuit. Clean, updated rooms. Full bar/restaurant with terrace to look over the bay. Lovely. Romantic.

Everything about this hotel is calm and relaxed. We enjoyed a fantastic four nights with family. Had a spa treatment which was very relaxing, but also enjoyed spectacular walks on the beach, which is a stones throw away. The staff are very good at their jobs and are so helpful. We also liked the delightful little touches, like freshly baked Hot Cross Buns on Good Friday. What a gem this hotel is.

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Woolacombe Bay Hotel for our minimoon, just a day after our wedding. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. We honestly couldn't have picked a more perfect place to celebrate our new chapter!

Every member of staff we encountered was super helpful and friendly, making us feel welcome and looked after throughout our stay. We also really admired the hotel's blend of modern amenities with classic decor.

We stayed in the Birdcage room and it completely blew us away! The room was immaculate and very spacious, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer! We left feeling refreshed and content. Highly recommend the Woolacombe Bay Hotel to anyone looking for a special and memorable getaway!

Had a wonderful day at the spa from start to finish, Grace and another blonde girl were very knowledgeable about the facilities and products, and Isabella gave me a wonderful massage, the food in the brasserie was lovely and Ruben made us a lovely cocktail, I’ll be back to sample more of the menu. Overall a fantastic day

Located on the South West Coast Path it’s ideal as a stopping point. |Luxury hotel and spa set in its own grounds.|Really comfortable room with bath and powerful shower. Great nights sleep.|Quality restaurant with friendly staff and good range of wines.|Tasty breakfast ready for an early start on the walk.|Strongly recommend.

We pop in now and again for a tea and a coffee and absolutely love sitting either near the bar or in any area we choose and there is lots of choice, very plush and relaxing. The terrace by the Bistro faces the lawn towards the sea and it’s really nice to sit out there on a sunny day. Staff in the Bistro all very professional and friendly.

We had dinner here, langoistines were on the specials so 2 of us had them.
Never tried before, they were a bit trickier than prawns but well worth the effort!
Very well cooked and presented, even the new potatoes were some of the best I have tasted.
Only constructive feedback is that a finger bowel could be provided with langoistines and some additional paper towels 🙂
