We have just had a celebration Sunday lunch at The Worsley Arms. Tony and the staff were amazing, serving twenty one people all at the same time no waiting. The menu choices and the wine were excellent.
We always feel as if we are the only people on the planet when we come here as nothing is too much trouble.
Thank you for a special day we will always remember.

We have just stayed for two nights with two other couples. We had a warm welcome when we arrived and that warmth carried on throughtout our stay. The rooms were cosy and comfortable. We had our evening meal on both nights. There were ample choices on the menu. The food was delicious and service fantastic. There are cosy seating areas as well as bar area. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. |We would definately recommend The Worsley Arms .

Just spent two nights at the Worsley Arms Hotel. When we first arrived our initial impressions were not good. The hotel is dated and tired in places. It has a charm about the place and reminded us of a bygone era. |The hosts however more than made up for the initial disappointment. They were very attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. We had dinner on Friday night which was lovely and the breakfasts were great too. |Our only little gripes were the hotel owns a cottage across the road with 8 rooms we were put in these rooms and would have preferred to stay in the actual hotel itself. Also the actual rooms are tired although they were comfortable the furniture was a throwback to the 1980’s. The throw on the bed had a large brown stain on it. |The rooms got very chilly at night and the heating didn’t come on until 7am although we did have a convector heater in our room.|If I could I would rate the hotel 3.5 as it’s not average but not great. |We would stay again if the rooms were updated.

My husband and I have stayed 3 times in the last few months sadly we did not make it down at the end of November. I adore Hovingham and the Worsley Arms Hotel, the little cottages across the road are our preferred place to stay. The staff are wonderful and so very welcoming. We will both see you again soon. We stayed at the Worsley Arms for 3 nights this week … our 3rd visit. It’s an elegant, unique place in a lovely village in a lovely area. Our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. From there we were able to visit some great locations … Nunnington Hall and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. We’ll be back soon.

Bedrooms at the Worsley hotel are from a bygone time. Stayed 2 nights over the bank holiday week-end (and would have gone somewhere else if it wasn’t for the fact it was the August bank holiday). Obviously, no money has been spent on updating for probably years and years. Furnishings from the 70’s, dark worn furniture and tub chairs with grubby coverings. The bed was comfortable but that was the only good thing. Bathroom was archaic! A metal shower frame over the central part of the bath and the shower curtain was very awkward to close. Also, if you weren’t athletic you would not manage stepping in or out of the bath. Toilet and sink very dated. Bedside tables and lamps covered in dust. Entrance door to the room was glass with a white net type curtain, not your usual type of entrance door.|All in all we felt we were in the forgotten back end of the building. How the hotel owners can charge £150.00 for such a room is unbelievable. We did not feel welcome during our stay as the staff never smiled, never bothered to make any conversation. During our visit to Yorkshire we stayed in a few other places and enjoyed tastefully, newly refurbished rooms and a very friendly service…….also for less money.

A few years since our last visit, glad to be back. Fabulous hosts, great food and a lovely traditional feel. Location is perfect for visiting Castle Howard, Helmsley and all the local places of interest.

We spent a superb afternoon here. Our little walking group ( 10 ) of us had a wonderful meal, and the staff looked after us all really well. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
I had Steak and Ale pie with chips and peas. It was great. The meat in the pie was cooked to perfection. Everyone else's metals looked just as good, too.
I can highly recommend the Worsley Arms. There's a carpark around the back, too.
We had a brilliant afternoon. A big thank you to the staff.👍.

Update: We went back to the Worsley Arms today with our car club. Tony and the staff made us all very welcome, and once again we had a superb meal. The roast beef is really good.
Definitely worth a trip out. You won't be disappointed. There's always a warm welcome.
