The hotel is in a secluded location with great grounds to explore. The staff were welcoming and cheerful throughout. Our room was clean and while not air conditioned, there was modern fan, which was appreciated. Our dinner in the 1877 Restaurant was superb. The Chateaubriand was magnificent. We are truly grateful to Bianca, who served us with a quiet professional attentiveness that did not intrude but met our needs. It was great to sit outside afterwards, long into the evening. Our stay was through a Virgin Experience Christmas gift and were are grateful to everyone who made this so enjoyable.

Myself and three friends booked afternoon tea to celebrate our 60th birthdays. The restaurant was lovely and nicely decorated. We were welcomed by a friendly lady waitress who looked after us very well and supplied us with plenty of tea. She was very efficient and was happy to take photos for us. The food was fresh, well presented and just the right amount and mix of sandwiches and cakes. One of our party had phoned ahead with some allergy information and our waitress was already aware of this and the food provided was correct. It was a shame that we were the only clients, apart from a couple celebrating their wedding anniversary. But this meant we could spend as much time as we wanted there. Another lovely lady waitress brought our bill, which we were surprised to see did not automatically include service charge. We all of course wanted to, and did, leave a tip, even thought the waitress said it was not necessary. We walked in the grounds and were impressed by them and the other public spaces in the hotel. Wonderful service, food and atmosphere. Will definitely recommend and return. Thank you.

4 star? Should be a 10 star hotel. I’ve stayed in a couple of 5 star hotels in the past and they were nothing compared to Wotton House.

As soon as we arrived, the receptionist were brilliant and helped me carry our bags into our room (Poppy). We also had some of our wedding cake left over from our wedding day (we came straight from our wedding). The staff member offered to take our cake and store it in their fridge which I was not expecting. Throughout our stay the staff members were extremely polite and courteous.

Breakfast was great buffet style with huge amount of choice available.

Spa facilities - pool on the tad small side however the rest were great and really made our mini-moon that extra relaxing. However, a few mould spots on the swimming pool seating but this was very minor.

The 9km walk around the estate was just exceptional and the reception team were on hand to give us recommendations on the best route to go and we had such an amazing time.

We were so expressed, we are now making Wotton House are go to hotel retreat for the future. Incredible is all I have to say

This was our 6th time visiting Wotton House, and again we were reminded why we keep coming back. The exceptional hospitality and beautiful location. ||What sets this hotel apart is definitely the service, and Kristina the guest relations manager is the reason we continue to choose this hotel time and time again. ||She consistently goes above and beyond to make sure our stay is comfortable and enjoyable. Even on this occasion, she even went out of her way to reallocate our friends room to better suit their needs. Something we are are incredibly grateful for. ||It’s rare to find someone who is so consistently thoughtful and professional and Kristina’s warm and attentive service always makes us feel right at home. ||We already look forward to our next stay at Wotton House.

We have just come back from yet another amazing stay at this lovely house. ||Everyone is always so friendly and welcoming. |The rooms have such lovely character and have everything you need including a very comfortable bed. The gardens are amazing.||I would like to say a big thank you to Caroline and all staff for making this stay so special for my birthday celebration. ||This is by far our best place to stay and can't recommend Wotton House enough.

We recently enjoyed a beautiful afternoon tea with our family to celebrate our grandparents’ joint birthday, and it was truly a wonderful experience from start to finish.||Our server, Ella, went above and beyond to make the occasion memorable. She gave us a warm welcome, explained the afternoon tea process clearly, and made sure every detail was just right for our group. She even shared the story behind the teas we were drinking, which added a lovely touch of charm and care.||The afternoon tea itself was absolutely delicious. The sandwich selection was fresh and varied, the scones were perfectly warm and paired wonderfully with clotted cream and jam, and the cakes were a real highlight — beautifully presented with a great variety to choose from. We were even able to take home what we couldn’t finish, which was a lovely bonus.||A special thank you to Ella for her kindness, attentiveness, and good humour — she truly made us feel looked after and kept the whole table smiling. We’ll definitely be back!

Just had a lovely weekend stay with my elderly parents. Staff were very welcoming and the hotel smelt lovely.
Rooms were nice and spotless. Comfortable bed.
Nice selection of food for breakfast, ranged from cereal, pastries or full English.
We eat in the 1877 restaurant on our first night. Very enjoyable meal and waiting staff very good and attentive.
Superb location for places to visit.
Only comment we'd make was the parking. Not many disabled places, so had to drop parents off at reception each time, especially when one car had parked with no blue badge the whole weekend. Hadn't even parked straight!

We had a lovely stay here for Easter weekend. The place is gorgeous, in a great location with beautiful grounds and nice walks and pubs nearby. Excellent service from super friendly and helpful staff. We brought our dog and there were lovely little treats and gifts for her too. Spa facilities are not fancy but still nice and clean. Breakfast was great, loads to choose from. Only criticism is that the restaurant food was a bit mediocre for the price. Nicely presented but a bit bland. Overall, a great place, would recommend. We don’t have a car but still managed to get around between local villages with nice walks and buses.
