Went here for a nearby wedding. The staff are amazing, fantastic food and nice real ale, only Badger beers, but I like a pint of Badger. Carpark is a little small due to popularity of the pub, but village is small with plenty of on street catparks plus some carparks. Village is also beautiful and worth a wonder around. Would highly recommend this pub due to the service, location food and beer

Pub and food were amazing. We had three courses and I have some dietary requirements. The staff were fab, 5 stars! The food was so good. Flavourful and tender. All four of us put it in our favourite restaurant, so we look forward to coming back.

Ye Olde George Inn offers a friendly country welcome from the beautiful village of East Meon. My room was perfectly decent too. The only real negative was the slightly temperamental shower that was at times difficult to control the temperature of. Both the breakfast (included in the price) and the two dinners that I had there were absolutely excellent. A well run inn.

Amazing dog friendly pub with incredible food, we went back a second time. We were staying a mile away for a weekend get away and what a find!

Had a great night on Friday night. Food and service was amazing and the staff have the perfect mix of efficiency and friendliness.

We went back for a Sunday roast and it didn't disappoint. Amazing!

one word of note: the dog friendly pub had about 15 well behaved dogs under tables for sunday lunch. one couple turned up with a dog aggressively snarling at the other dogs, continuously barking and carrying on. The manager handled it perfectly. Asked the owner to get the dog under control or sit outside. So refreshing to see someone take control and manage the place for the benefit of his customers... those with two legs and those with four! Calmness returned and we all got back to our roasts and doggie treats!

Will be back

Ended up here with extended family members after a nearby circular walk. Table for 7 had been booked in the main pub area ascthey are doggie friendly (no dogs in the restaurant).
Was amazed to see how busy it was, but now that I've sampled their ambience, service & food, I can see why.
Front of house & service was super friendly & efficient, even to the extent of giving 2 dog biscuits to ensure our mutt was left out.
All meals chosen were perfectly cooked, tasty & well presented - top notch. Service charge isn't automatically added (nice touch to see) & is up to you when paying.
Overall a fabulous pub in a gorgeous setting

Came here with a small group after a local run. The location and look of the pub was fantastic but unfortunately we were greeted incredibly rudely by the bar staff. We asked if it was possible to order food and got a surly response of - ‘well I suppose I’ll have to take your order but the chef won’t be happy’ among other grumbles. There was no welcome or even a smile. There was only 10 of us and we were told the kitchen was still open so it seemed like an uncalled for response. This was on Good Friday at 8pm, the pub only had a handful of people inside and the barman was rude to everyone in our party that ordered food. We felt like they must be doing very well as a business to be so openly hostile to customers. Got the feeling they had already decided they were closing early and were not happy to have the custom. One of our runners had a small amount of mud on his shoes (he apologised) but this also drew grumbles from the barman. As a rural village pub that seems to welcome walkers regularly, therefore a common occurrence, this just felt like another excuse for the barman to grunt like a moody teenager. There was a disappointing lack of hospitality and as a group we would not return. I decided not to order food because I couldn’t fathom someone being so rude and didn’t want to spend my money there. Those that had food said it was ok.
In a time when local pubs are struggling, it seems very odd to give off the attitude that you don’t want the custom.
