Lovely old Fashioned pub... the type with low doorways and real fires.
The bar and seating area are nicely decorated in keeping either the17th century building, but comfortable and clean.
It's £4.50 for a Guinness zero, which I thought might be slightly high?
A Sunday roast dinner starts from £15 (can't remember the pence).
The roast dinner was very nice, although I wished there had been a little boat of extra gravy, and apple sauce for the pork too. I think they use good oil as the roast were very tasty, although slightly soft for my personal taste.
I'm not sure whether it would be great for people with mobility issues, there were steps to the door but there maybe an alternative entrance.
Good size car park. Close to some fabulous countryside, and reservoirs so good to walk off lunch.
The only let down for me was that the woodwork paint in the toilets was very matt and was not kept clean... it was particularly filthy, and I suspected that the mop had not been rinsed clean for a while either.
I saw something behind the cubicle door that may have been mouse droppings but didn't care to inspect more closely.
Such a shame because everything else was lovely.

I spent 1 night hear for business. The owners take real pride in their service, and it shines through. The pub is located only 25 minutes from the centre of Sheffield and a taxi will cost circa £35. The location is quiet and situated in the rolling hills of the countryside.

The food was good too and the landlord was kind enough WhatsApp the menus ahead of time. I had traditional pub meal for dinner which worked well, and the free Full English Breakfast was great fill most appetites.

The rooms are basic but cosy and very clean. The bed was comfortable, and the location is second to none if you are looking for a quiet spot.

The landlord went out of their way to accommodate our needs and even provide a lift down the road.

If you are looking for a pleasant short stay with access to the city centre of Sheffield or the rolling hill you really can’t go wrong with this spot.

Well off the tourist trail, you’re more likely to have a local point you to it rather than stumble on it yourself.
I can’t speak to the hotel (never stayed), but the restaurant is one of my favourite places to stop for a meal and a pint when in the UK.
If you’re in the NW Peak District, well worth calling in!

Went for Sunday lunch. The staff couldn’t do enough to help and were amazing. A great Sunday lunch for an amazing price. Food was piping hot and freshly cooked with plenty of Sunday lunch options. Then sat outside in the sun for further drinks with plenty of seating and a play area for families.

I stayed here for two nights (Aug 24) and found the place to be really nice, location, accommodation, food and all the staff. If you're unfamiliar with the area then this is a great base to set off from and then to recharge your batteries in the evenings. I parked my car in the 'massive' carpark on the Friday afternoon and didn't need it until leaving on the Sunday, so many small walks to do for first thing and in the evenings and footpaths linking up if you opt for a day out walking. My room did need some improvements but was clean, tidy and nicely quiet. The beverage tray and bathroom smellies, you'll very rarely see these as good in most hotels these days - cookies and hot choc, chocs on the bed, shampoo and body wash, very nice touch indeed. Breakfast is in with the room cost and you'll be very pleased to sit down to it I'm sure, I opted for eggs on toast on both mornings but will be having the full English when I next visit towards the winter months, and I'm very much looking forward to that stay. Thanks to you all at Ye Olde Mustard Pot.

I was due to stay here on Friday 19th of July with my daughter, unfortunately we were unable to due to her getting Covid. So i gifted my other daughter and her boyfriend a night away. I am, as are they, absolutely disgusted in the service that they received during their stay at Ye Olde Mustard Pot. It was evident that the room had not been cleaned, their was dust on the widow sill, urine on the toilet seat, empty toiletry tubes in the bottom of the shower and dirt on the radiator and floor. The maintenance of the room wasn't much better with a broken light and paint peeling from the ceiling. They did speak to a member of staff that was quite abrupt and they did get their room change but, it is about first impressions and the massive inconvenience. Which is not good enough for a hotel, let alone one that charges £85 per night. It is just not acceptable.

That is not the worse part, when they went down to breakfast they were approach by a female member of staff. Who said the following: "you ready for breakfast? Sounded like you need some energy and the bed is very squeaky isn't it? I didn't know what was going on when I first heard it. This place may as well be a brothel."

Absolutely disgusting, even a male member of staff was shocked that she had spoken to them like it and her response to him was "it is ok, they are young"

No-one goes away to a hotel to be treated be treated in this manner, very little regard for the inconvenience and embarrassment.

Just a final word. I have stayed in 1000's of hotels all around the world and I have never had an experience like this (from cleanliness and staff behaviors and I think they seriously need to do something about it.

After reaching out to this company, there was no acknowledgement of unprofessional behaviour and not even an apology! Stay away!
