Gorgeous little pub, very popular. The Sunday roast looks spectacular - get in early if that's something you want because this place gets FULL. Plenty of other great things on the menu, and the beers are of the highest quality. Toilets are delightfully quaint. Dogs welcome.

Decent pub and hotel. Staff were friendly and welcoming, breakfast was good quality and what I saw of the normal menu looked good as well. The stay was let down by a few minor snags in the room and the mattress was very poor quality. A sign says the room is due refurbishment and under that circumstance I'd happily return.

There a lot of pubs in Castleton and we randomly selected this one to have some late lunch and definitely glad we did. The staff were very pleasant and attentive and the food was absolutely excellent! Thoroughly enjoyed every morsel. They were so good with my little girls too. Strongly recommended. You won’t be disappointed.

We visited for an evening meal and both the food and service were excellent. The woman that greeted and served us was excellent, friendly, keen to help, and made us feel most welcome. The food was delicious too, especially the Caesar salad, which was also very generously portioned. Our only disappointment coming away from it was that we didn't have cash to hand to leave a well deserved tip!

We stayed here for the weekend wanting a 'timeless 17th century coaching inn' and we were not disappointed! The welcome was very warm by the lovely staff and, although the bar was busy, they checked us in promptly and gave us all the info we needed. The free parking is a wonderful extra! They even managed to squeeze us in for dinner!||The room (Winhill) was above and beyond expectation with a fabulous deep bath with overhead shower. The bed was comfortable and the shower warm and powerful. There were little extras in the room such as a fan, heater, tea and coffee with biscuits and a hairdryer. We loved how they have kept many of the traditional features and upgraded areas (like the bathroom) for comfort and convenience.||The food was delicious, breakfast and dinner. Good menu choice and reasonable prices.||If it is modern hotel you are looking for then this is not for you but if it is a timeless 17th century coaching inn you are after (as stated on their website) then you will not be disappointed. We will definitely return to Ye Olde Nags Head and highly recommend it.

The atmosphere was wonderful - the love music was great and the food was superb. The staff (in particular Dan!) went above and beyond to make sure they rectified a couple of tiny errors to ensure we had a brilliant time. Can't recommend highly enough!

We loved the style and size of the room which we stayed in. There were some nice little extras. The staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. The food was really good but would have liked more roast potatoes on the Sunday dinner. Our only negative of the stay was the mattress. It wasn't comfortable, and it did affect our sleep, but we did sleep. However, there is a notice saying that they are refurbishing the rooms, so we are assuming the mattress will be included in that. The location was great. Ideal base for some lovely walks. I would recommend this place to stay.

Popped in for a meal this evening, ordered 2 pizzas. They were absolutely delicious, clearly homemade with soft, fluffy dough. Highly recommend the pizzas.
