Had everything we needed. Comfortable room and it was quiet. Family friendly with books, drawing and games available, along with tv and dvd films if needed.|Food is available at meal times and children eat for a £1 with a paying adult. There is a large kitchen with 3 separate booths for cooking. There is lots of equipment to use and fridges to store food. There is easy car parking overnight with a 24 hr free car park nearby for the daytime as the car park outside is a short stay car park.|From the YHA you can walk straight out onto the town wall. A short walk around to a good play park.

Stayed in early July as part of a trip up the East coast. Loved the service the staff went above and beyond to make a lovely trip even better. Thoroughly enjoyed the room and the breakfast. Can’t recommend enough and the best price in town. Stayed in L01 close to the main building.

A modern but cosy reception with lots of woodwork. Reception situated at one end of the ground floor with small tuck shop, central area consists of tables and chairs for the bistro serving hot food. Rooms very clean with plenty of space for luggage. Comfortable beds. Highly recommended

Great place. Lovely people. Very nice place to stay for families and young people.|The location is outstanding. We were impressed with the refurbishment of this former granary. The character of the place is very well respected without making it too precious but friendly and welcoming.

The staff was so kind, helpful and friendly! Really big kitchen and comfortable rooms. It is just perfect accommodation for young people like me (but not only!) Not to mention the location - nearby the "city centre".

This was a great budget place to stay as a solo female traveller. I spent three nights at the youth hostel with my husband and son-in-law on the first night and the remaining two nights on my own. Booking was not straightforward.I had to make the group booking separately from the nights I was going to be there on my own and I made an error when I first booked for myself. However, whilst there was some confusion as to how many people would be using the room this was quickly sorted out by the staff on reception when we checked in. The facilities were very clean but the self-catering kitchen was a bit of a scramble to find some items like mugs, bowls and glasses. It seems these get regularly lifted by some visitors which is a shame. We managed fine though.

Great staff - friendly and helpful. The windows only opened a bit which made it a little stuffy. Beds were comfortable and the building is very cool.
