Cannot fault the location or service, absolutely spot on. Extremely close to the station and city centre. Apartment was clean and well presented with everything you need.
However... someone is running a brothel out of these apartments! For the 2 days I stayed there were continuous people coming and going from the adjacent apartments. Some shady characters hanging around outside on their phones, counting cash, late at night lots of loud fake moaning, unfortunately with the upper window open or closed you can hear it all... And nobody has that much action!
Even someone assumably associated with the property casually sat outside discussing the 'business' with asian lady's. At least try and be discreet about it for goodness sake.

We had the best stay at York Aparthotel! The apartment is really modern with everything you need including tea and biscuits for in the morning. It’s so close to the centre of York, we were walking distance from everywhere we wanted to visit and close to the train station. Instructions to access the apartment are easy to follow too. We will definitely be returning here whenever we’re staying in York! Thank you so much 🙂

DO NOT STAY HERE - horrendous customer service and filth everywhere. I wish I was joking but we were effectively forced to flee the property in the small hours of the morning on a bank holiday Sunday.||Upon contacting the host with very valid concerns regarding cleanliness and hygiene (listed below) he became increasingly rude and aggressive in his tone and manner on the phone. After being told to leave several times we felt we had no other option but to flee the property which we had to do in a panic after it was intimated that we would only be refunded if we were gone before he arrived in around ‘20 minutes’. There was absolutely no consideration given to us in any way here and to be fully candid, we felt threatened. ||Now onto the concerns we raised, which were effectively ignored: ||The bed sheets are stained. The light doesn’t work on the stairs. There are dust and cobwebs in numerous places. The latch on the door which you attach the hook onto is broken so that it can’t be secured that way. The “Hold for 5 seconds” button doesn’t work to turn all the lights off. There is no remote / air con facility even though the text says there is air con and this building is very hot. It feels like you are falling off the bed - the mattress topper is very uneven and makes it hard to get comfortable. ||From about 8.30pm until midnight all we could hear was screaming and shouting and noise as a full scale party was pretty much taking place next door. This being said, even when they were just talking at normal volume it felt as though they were in the room with us. We could actually hear next door’s television word for word. We booked this room on the premise that it was sold as being “sound proof” as my partner and I work very stressful jobs and travel a lot for work. We needed the peace and a proper rest. Safe to say we did not get that. ||On top of this, the property was in a general state of uncleanliness. There was a suspicious looking brown stain on the spare toilet roll. The inside rim of the toilet is also stained brown. The cheese grater is absolutely disgusting and looks like it hasn’t been cleaned since it was purchased. The same goes for the toastie maker. There is literally a huge clump of old cheese on it. The washing machine stinks of sick and poo and is smeared with another brown substance, which regrettably there seems to be a lot of.|| The ceiling looks ready to give way at any point: you can literally move it with your hand. This doesn’t seem safe. On top of the cabinets was what looks like an old pot of used jam. Once again, vile. Much of the cutlery is stained or dirty. The clock downstairs is broken. The drawer under the sink fell down when another was opened. Many handles and other surfaces are stained or dirty. There is no coffee machine as advertised. ||This was perhaps the worst stay of my life, and I have backpacked around Europe and stayed in some pretty questionable places so that’s saying something. Do yourself favour and stay WELL clear of here.

Absolute disgrace of a hotel and owner. Quite possibly the rudest and most stubborn man I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Not only was he disregarding to genuine concerns of paying guests but his tone and manner became increasingly aggressive to the point that me and my partner literally had to run away from the apartment in the early hours of the morning under the threat that the owner was turning up in 20 minutes and that if we were not out by the time he arrived we would not be refunded. The threat of no refund was not our main concern here; our primary concern was that at 2am in the morning the owner, a man we do not know at all was going to be turning up to the apartment.||||We arrived to the property fairly late on in the evening as we had been busy much of the day and once we got in we both got on with the work we had intended to do whilst on our work / holiday trip. This is wher ethe problems start. We chose ot stay at this property on the premise that on booking.com it was sold as being soundproof; a feature we very much need in order to concentrate on our work. This couldnt have been further from the turth. The noise was horrendous. From noisy neighbours to the pub outside all we could hear from the second we walked in the door was shouting and music. The walls in these apartments are so paper thin that at 1am in the morning, we could hear the next doors televison word for word. ||||We tried our best to get on with it and make the best of a bad situation but once we finsihed our work and started to actaully look around the apartment we realised we simply culdnt take it anymore. The apartment was not only dark and musty but was in a general state of uncleanliness. There was was appeared to be either human excrement or blood on one of the toilet rolls. The inside of the washing machine had a pungent smell of sick and poo as well as a suscipious brown stain running next to the softener draw. Take a look in the kitchen cupboards and you will see each shelf is stained and marked and each cup or bowl is dusty and dirty. Open up the cutlery draw and you'll find each item to be stained. The most horrific site we saw in the kicthen was the cheese grater. This utensil still had layers of cheese on it which looked like it hadnt been cleaned since the dinosaurs still roamed the earth. I could safely say if you put the cheese from this grater into a petri dish you would be able to grow a small civilisation from the bacteria on it. Take a look at the toastie maker and you will find it also in a state of unclean. turn it around and you will find what seems to be a clump of cheese and onion still attached. Take a look at the ceiling and you will see how cracked and unsteady it is; give it a gentle push with your finger and you will be able to move it up which to us gives clear impression that it is ready to give way to the weight from above. every single corner of this building was covered in grime and dirt. The bathroom toilet had brown stain running down the inside of the rim and even the metal holder which was used to store bars of soap was stained brown. When quizzed about these issue the owner texted and said that any utensils placed away in cupboards by previous guest were deemed as 'cleaned'. This implies that the cleaners / owner do not check these items when cleaning; which the reader can imagine means that you could deficate on a plate or urinate in a cup and so long as you place it neatly inside the cupboard then it is deemed as cleaned, which is ridiculous.||||the owner offered to move our apartment but of course we said no. As if he doesnt take pride in this one then the pattern of dirt and grime will be throughout. Throughout our text message exchange in these early hours the owner continuted to not really apologise or take ownership for his disgusting room instead was almost trying to gaslight the blame for these issues onto us by saying he didnt understand why there was a brown stain on the new toilet roll to which we responded that it didnt matter that it was new, it was there. Eventually I had to phone the owner as it was clear that there was no speaking to him over text. The phone call ended with the owner telling us to "Just leave then, get out, go now" after we had already told him we would be checking out first thing in the morning. Please bare in mind this is approx 2am in the morning on a bank holiday sunday, leaving the apartment at this time on this date would essentially mean homlessness. All of the hotels were fully booked after we tried for hours to find one after we left York Aparthotels and of course, we were knackered. Sitting in a freezing cold car park at 3am in the morning in a strange city was not how we intended our holiday to go. The owner did say if we left we would be refunded on the phone to which I asked him to put that in writing over text message. It took several goes to get him to safely say we would be refunded and this is when his tone and manner begins to change towards the aggresive side.||||One we had it in writing that we would be refunded the owner told us he would be at the apartment in 20 mins and that we had to go. This of course was worrying as we do not know this man and we do not know how he wouldve been with us at that hour. The last, rather chilling message he sent us after I asked that we would recive a full refund was the following "As long as you're out and the car is gone by the time I get there". This threat was surreal to us. Not only is he implying that if we are still there when he arrives then we will not be refunded but it also impies that if we are there he wouldve have kicked us out with no refund and no where to go and maybe worse. His bullying attitude was disgraceful and I would highly recommend that everyone stays clear of this owner and building. Imagine if this was a women on her own in this apartment raising these issues and this man said the same to her and threatend to turn up in 20 mins time in the dead of the night. A truly terrfiying experience. ||||Unfortunately for the owner, this exchange between myself and him is all evidenced on message so he cannot deny his actions or words. ||||Save your money. There are far nicer hotels and apartments to stay in for less money than this around york. In fact, a hostel may provide you with cleaner, safer lodgings.

Had a wonderful stay been at yorkapart a cupple if times can't wait to go back it's lovely and clean and cosy everything u need us there and close to everything and the staff r wonderful couldn't fault the place one bit thank u fir a wonderful stay

The Duvet and the pillows are the warmest and fluffiest I have ever felt. And I love the good quality furnitures and the full kitchen is very good quality as well , convenient to cooking , let me feeling at home. Particularly the bathroom is very big and bright !

Nice enough and well appointed.
Welcome email stating 6 parking spaces is wrong.
Spent 20 minutes trying to work out where the 2 remaining spaces were then another 40 queuing for the multistorey nearby.
No TV remote which made the TV redundant.
Wet room is nice but a bit of a death trap. Some kind of shower mat would help.

Very disappointed with our stay. Wanted somewhere close to the centre but not that close that it was loud so opted for york aparthotel. That was a mistake, the apartments are right next door to a very loud pub which is what it is but you could hear it loud as anything inside with all the doors and windows shut. Apartments are dark and smelt like foist and sewerage mixed together. Marks all over the walls, massive crack in the ceiling, paint coming off, old furniture, tv signal was rubbish and an awful smell of sewerage. Informed the person who looks after the flats who's response was rude and basically said 'cancel and find somewhere else' didn't seem to believe what I was saying about the decor until I sent pictures. Even then he tried to make excuses saying the apartments had recently been decorated and sent me texts from his decorator I mean why? I was there and it had absolutely not been recently decorated. Offered us free parking which we accepted but still not good enough, he said he'd get someone in to sort when we'd gone but what good is that to us? Incredibly disappointed with the apartment and the way the issues we raised were dealt with. Definitely won't be going back. Ever.
