Yurtshire Fountains - Ripon

Our 2-night stay at Yurtshire was nothing short of magical! The peaceful surroundings and cozy yurts made for the perfect retreat to unwind and reconnect with nature. We treated ourselves to yoga classes, which were both relaxing and rejuvenating, and the pizza oven was a fun addition—just be sure to watch the instructional video before, as there's no phone service (but that added to the charm!). The sauna, cold plunge, and the lake were absolute highlights, offering an authentic and refreshing experience. While the sofas on the decking were a bit wet and could use some weather protection, this was a minor issue in an otherwise fantastic stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. We can’t wait to return for another peaceful escape! Hopefully in better weather conditions.

We’ve recently returned from a 2 night weekend stay with extended family staying in 2 other yurts. Overall we enjoyed our stay, the hot tubs were a big hit once we managed to control the temperature and the vibe was nice with a fabulous view of the night sky on the clear night we had. The toilet / shower facilities were fine however the images on the site are reflective of the other location so there is a feeling of instant disappointment upon arrival which could easily be avoided (some of the reviews here for fountains are not fountains). Being off grid is part of the appeal but there is a lack of consistency in terms of what works / doesn’t work in way of solar power / lighting. There was a distinct lack of working lighting in the outdoor seating areas for all 3 yurts that we occupied. I’m not sure when the site was setup but it is definitely in need of some TLC so hopefully that happens across the winter.

Stayed here for 2 nights in september.
The first night was during a big rainstorm. No problems with leaks, nice to listen to the rain on the roof.
The yurt is very big inside, lovely comfy double bed.
We opted for the breakfast and pizza oven. The iven was easy to use and made great pizza.
The breakfast was from a butchers in Ripon, pay them a visit if you can.
The Log fire stove is very good and keeps the yurt very warm. Did get cold during the night, so someone needs to pop another log on to keep it warm.
There is no elcetric as such, as lights run off batteries chraged by solar so you wont be able to charge your phones etc.
We used the hot tub, had it preHeated for us.
Overall a very good experience. Not much within easy walking distance. Ripon is a nice little town to spend a few hours in.

Near perfect, but I was incredibly disappointed to find no one available on site at weekend. I wanted to book a yurt for today (Sunday) & Monday, but no one available to confirm availability, and which yurts allow dogs. So sadly, will miss best of weather - not sure if I'm more disappointed or more irritated!

We loved it, it's relaxing and quiet. The yurts are nice and well kitted out with everything you need. It can get chilly but once you get a log fire going it soon heats up. Great for walkers, and animal friendly also perfect if you just if you just want to escape for a bit and relax.

No WiFi and we struggled to get signal, but I don't think that is such a bad thing for a trip like this.

Their are plenty of attractions a short drive away, although we were happy enough enjoying the yurt and hot tub.

I loved my stay here! The yurts have a lot of privacy because of the trees but it's also nice that there are other yurts and people nearby. Inside the yurt has plenty of space, especially for just 2 people but also enough room with the 2 sofa beds are out for the children which are comfy for them to sleep on.
The bathroom with the clear ceiling is such a highlight and the bathroom is very fancy for a glamping yurt!

We loved the hot tub, it doesn't have bubbles as its fire powered but we enjoyed this more. The kitchen has everything you need to cook meals and the BBQ is the best way to cook most of the food on.

Me and my husband recently had a lovely 2 night stay at yurtshire. We were even able to take our dog. We were greeted on arrival by a very accommodating member of staff. A cart was available to transfer our belongings to the yurt( take wellies as it was quite muddy due to the weather). Inside was everything needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was very comfy. A basket of logs was provided( we also took our own) we still had to buy more so be prepared as loads are needed to get the hot tub going. The hot tub took about 3 hours to heat. My husband did have to work hard chopping wood( I sat and watched with a glass of wine 🍷😂) wow! once heated it was well worth the hard work and was still warm the next morning 😊 we used the fire pit and had a bbq the first evening, and the 2nd evening we went to the nearest pub which was a 2 mile walk across fields( map available at reception). The tea lights and lanterns supplied were a nice touch. Shower lovely and hot. Overall a fantastic stay at yurtshire and would definitely recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍

Quite frankly an unbelievable place in a beautiful setting, staff are very friendly and we had excellent service which included our bags being dropped off at the yurt and a full talk through on how to get the best experience in the yurt. The Yurt is very spacious and is full of decorations and a log burner. Cooking facilities and a coffee machine is also included as-well as complimentary kindling, logs and fire starters. Would 100% suggest going. I stopped in the middle yurt called hazel and I’ve never had an experience like it. The fire pit, bathroom and hot tub where all 10/10. The location is also perfect as it is close to lots of national heritage sites such as fountains Abby and briham rock. It is also about 4-5 miles out of ripon so it is easy access into the city. I will 100% be back (hopefully in winter). All round excellent little break, thank you so much to the Yurtshire team, should be very proud of what you have going! 🙂
