Though it's an old hotel, the rooms were cozy and the staff were helpful. It's a great price and only 10 minutes away from Bath centre (with traffic). Rooms are small but as I stayed there for a work trip and wasn't in the room, it was perfect.

The Receptionist who saw us in was very friendly and polite. The sheets and towels were clean. There is free car parking at the rear of the hotel. That is the best I can say about this place. We mistakenly booked here instead of the hotel next door - DO NOT confuse them or you will be bitterly disappointed! The building could be lovely, it is an old Somerset stone property that in its day would have been somewhat grand. Sadly it has not been touched for years. There are broken windows, the rooms are badly in need of renovation, the bathroom was dank, dark and the shower, although had a screen was useless and the floor was soaked. We paid for a continental breakfast but would not bother. Cheap supermarket croissants and cheap supermarket sliced bread. My apple was ok though! I hate to be so negative but whoever owns this needs to address some basic fundamentals but before they do they MUST get the broken windows dealt with. The one in the lounge had jagged glass fragments still in the frame. This was from a sash window that was low down so in easy reach. Fortunately we were only booked for one night. With hindsight that was one night too many.

Bailbrook Lodge is a quaint country house hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was small but well-equipped. No elevator but we were on the first floor, so it didn’t matter. It’s located just about 100 yards from the bus stop for the bus taking you onto Bath. Very convenient. The continental breakfast was very good. We’d stay again.

My friend and I have visited this hotel 4 or 5 times, first couple of times the hotel was owned privately, the hotel was what you would call Bath quirky, it was clean , friendly, excellent breakfast, excellent hospitality tray and bathroom accessories in the room. Since OYO took over we have watched it go downhill, it’s beyond tired everywhere, breakfast now only continental and chargeable. As far as bedding is concerned, it’s clean but the beds are old and I found rather uncomfortable. The young man on reception is very nice and helpful and does everything possible to help but unless they start doing some improvements!! it’s such a shame, the hotel used to be lovely and so convenient for public transport into Bath centre, so no need to go by car paying parking etc. doubt I’d go back again., sad.

This is our second stay at this hotel, and as others have said it has deteriorated in the last 12 months. The location is great and the free parking a definite bonus. The room is ok, but starting to look a little tired with no water glasses. We were told when we arrived that there was no cooked breakfast which is one of the things that we looked forward to, however there was no indication on booking.com that breakfast in now only continental - if you can call it that! As others have said it is a pitiful offering for £8.00 - small croissants, yoghurts, bread, sliced cheese and ham, and a fruit bowl. We will not be returning.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The building is full of history and character. Absolutely beautiful. Every room is different and has its own feel. We stayed in the Queen Charlotte Room and had a beautiful view of the garden.
The only thing I could complain about was that the tiling in the bathroom could do with a little tlc. The broken and badly fixed tiles made it look a little shabby even though everything was very clean.

The hotel once for sure was a wonferful place but pictures as well as interiour is very outdated and heavily used. Our room was in the basement. It smelled moldy and wet, the bathroom did not have windows and was very rosty and used. You could literally hear everything from other rooms and levels. All in all we do not recommend a stay. The only nice Thing to mention is the breakfast served by a very nice Lady

So pleased with this find! A period property at a budget price. Room 23 had all sorts of beautiful features such as an original tiled Victorian fireplace and a roll top bath. Bad reviews seem to come from people who have mistaken this hotel to be a 5 star luxury experience like it's neighbour. Very happy to find somewhere like this so close to Bath.
