Lovely place, excellent value, perfect hosts! Great fresh breakfast and service, we are vegetarian and they were very accommodating and it was very tasty and really well cooked. It would be nice to have a vegetarian sausage or similar to be added to the menu for us non meat eaters perhaps? but good options regardless for veggies. Lovely clean rooms, great location too with a nice easy 10 minute walk to the centre and it has good parking. Would highly recommend and would certainly stay again. Thank you!

Had a fabulous stay at the Burton Stone inn over Easter with the family whilst enjoying the sights and sounds of York. Fantastic place to stay and couldn't praise it enough. Mickel was a true gentleman and made us feel very welcome from the start. Definitely stay again in the future. So easy to choose a hotel with a house hold name but then you don't get the warmth and homely feel that you do for a place like this.

Fantastic little gem just outside the centre of York. Lovely friendly staff, very warm comfortable and well appointed rooms and a fab breakfast! Absolutely superb value for money in what is a very expensive city!

We had a very comfortable stay and the staff could not have been m ore friendly or helpful. I will definitely stay here again and would highly recommend the Burton Stone Inn.

This is an absolutely lovely B&B in a listed building. Aggie contacted me in the morning to confirm our expected arrival time, which was very considerate. She was so friendly when we checked in, gave us a map and lots of local knowledge. We were shown to Room 4, which is a beautiful, large family room with a double bed and bunkbeds. There was complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits and chocolates as well as toiletries. The beds were extremely comfortable.
The B&B is about a 15min walk from the centre, so there's no need to drive as parking in York can be difficult, especially last week during the Viking Festival. We didn't book breakfast (unfortunately this wasn't an option on Hotels.com) but Aggie's does look delicious. There are a couple of cafes on the same road as The Burton Stone so we ate at those. The bar at the Burton Stone is open from 4pm to 8pm so you can refuel after a long day. Aggie was running the place single-handedly during an extremely busy half-term and did an amazing job! There are games in the bar area to keep the kids entertained and away from gadgets!!
On our last day, check out was at 10am but Aggie kindly allowed us to leave our car in the car park whilst we enjoyed a full day in York.
My only issue (and this is not a criticism of The Burton Stone) is that next doors tv was extremely loud until very late on. Other people have mentioned the road noise, yes it's a very busy main road but I live in a big city so I hardly noticed it to be honest.
I would definitely stay here again but next time I would book directly through the Burton Stone website and order breakfast! Thank you so much for your warm hospitality Aggie x

lovely well-decorated clean and comfy room, with a very comfortable bed! Michael and George were also very friendly and told us about lots of good local places - whenever we come back to York this will be where we stay! would highly, highly recommend 🙂

Lovely hotel very comfortable beds exceptional breakfast and only 10 minutes walk to the minster. We did have to pay £7.50 per night to park in their car park but were told upon leaving that the car park is free if you book direct through the hotel. We will definitely be returning.

Beautifully decorated room with a comfortable king size bed, lovely modern bathroom and powerful shower. The whole place was spotlessly clean. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The bar area was also nicely decorated. The hotel is only about a 10 minute walk in to the centre of York and parking is available for a small fee so we didn’t need to use the car. Had a wonderful two night break and will definitely return.

Great little hotel run by a lovely Polish couple. Rooms are clean stylishly furnished and warm in winter. Nice feel to the hotel with small friendly bar, the locals drink here too which is a good sign. Short 10 min walk to the Minster with other great eat/venues on the way. Ideal. Great value. Will go back. Book direct for better deal on parking
